Does Star wars really set a high bar for that? I feel like the internet currently loves the prequel trilogy, but I was a teenager when those came out and the writing for those was abysmal. I would say just as bad if not worse than the sequel trilogy in a lot of cases, because there's barely any thematic material there, it's just people standing around saying things sans anything resembling emotion. At least with the sequels you're getting some semblance of quotable lines that aren't memes, and actual good acting.

  • @ethanstechworld207

@@DainLagunaI agree that the prequels as a trilogy are not good. For all the things you said. I do have fun with Revenge of the Sith but it still has a laundry list of flaws. The thing with the prequels that the sequel trilogy failed to do was have a cohesive vision for the story. Overall the prequels stink, but at least I felt like I was watching the story George Lucas wanted to tell. With the sequels, I felt it started off strong, and I loved The Force Awakens before the following two came out. I don’t have the same criticisms of The Last Jedi as others. But when we get to The Rise of Skywalker, I didn’t think there could be a worse Star Wars movie than Attack of the Clones. Yet somehow they managed to do that with episode 9. In my opinion that movie is unwatchable.

@@DainLagunaStar Wars creates nostalgia hype if anything. Nothing is great until they start missing it. The writing in the prequels just got worse but they gets memed into the 4th through 6th greatest movies of all time. Sequel writing was pretty horrendous in its own right but mainly from the producers and the terrible direction writers were given (Palpy coming back was 100% something they were told to write) but it was never going to be "good" to some people.

@@heartycoffee4754personal opinion: I like TFA, but TLJ and TROS suck. Overall the sequels suck because there was no cohesion, no unique plot, no imagination or plan. They destroyed any chance of making a meaningful female character, they sidelined a character whose arc was set up to be the primary focus, sidelined all the characters who were actors of color and they were given very weak journeys, and basically destroyed the significance of the villain.

objectively I kinda agree that the Star Wars sequels are bad. Kylo Ren wasn't the worst of the entire series, it was actually "DIRECTION" and that is my opinion based on Facts we all share in Star Wars fandom. However never blame the actor for the stupid character they're delivered and told how to act when given "Notes" from a shitty director/studio interference. JJ and Rian are directors, great on other films that are NOT Star Wars, I mean "Knives Out" was good. Do I think Kylo Ren was a poorly developed character? Yes, but he had promise. The script had fan service and such, and the delivery of the film at the time was mishandled. After Carrie Passed away for real, I was destroyed that "This sucks and the film she is in, is her last Star Wars opportunity" like we got Robbed, at least she was portraying a Loving mother and not a judgmental one. But let's be real, we want Star ships, lasers and a good story with WELL ROUNDED characters. Again, Adam doesn't need to apologize for his portrayal, those were the notes from the whole Disney/Star Wars direction and production higher ups. Not HIS fucking fault. This new film, FERARRI looks fucking cool!!! I like him and I dislike the narrative that most starwars fans and news content is provided to us, we gotta move on tho. For real talk less on starwars and such, talk about the new Project plz for the love of effing GODS!!!!

I’m shocked Rich didn’t ask him about Heat 2 with Michael Mann, Driver is playing Deniros role in a prequel and Rich didn’t even ask him about it.. I normally love Rich, he failed in this interview..

Rian Johnson is a great filmmaker. He also absolutely ruined the trilogy. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Star Wars should let JJ re-do episode 8 and 9, true to his original vision. K.REN’s arc the full Dark Force embrace would have been amazing.

Wanted a Bit more at the end I expected. Super funny on SNL “he also looks like he can be the son of the wizard from Harry Potter”

Don't even say for a minute that F1 is something everyone wants to watch. Who the hell wants to watch verstappen and red bull romp away with victory every single week

What a mess for the actors. You rely on the filmmakers to direct you and they don't even know what movie they're making.
