I want you guys to know that I jave nothing but the utmost respect for you both. You both seem very open minded, and don't care one way or another if someone has different opinions. You both embody, imo, what it means to be American. Peace be on you, your son, and your family. Happy New Years! P.S. I pray your son grows up to be a handsome and successful man in the future!

This. Our current government sucks. Government in America was meant to be LIMITED, SMALL, and NOT overbearing. Government was supposed to be everyday people, and they were to serve the people they represent. Unfortunately our government has been subverted, sold out, and made into a corporation. Our current state of affairs is NOT what our Founding Father's intended. Soooo much of our Constitution has been trampled over.

I can understand "BLM" as an expression or movement. It is every American's right to go out and protest. That being said, I will never support rioting or the BLM organization. On their website it used to say that 2 of their goals were to destroy the patriarchy and the idea of the nuclear family. What do either of those things have to do with police brutality.

  • @choice12ozborne

Bingo.... You got the jackpot!!! Has nothing to do with Police brutality. They can't run strictly on what you just mentioned and stay in the picture. Those are unpopular views to most people that you mentioned. So you woke from that drunken stupor. Haha. Welcome to the real life!!! Police brutality is something that grabs everyone's attention this year and most especially since George Floyd. But you got it Right. Maybe it will be at could idea and more people should go read that site. Share it with a friend lol... Happy New Year🙏✌💯👍🧨🧨🧨🧨

Hey guys. I am from the racism reaction you did. We call it the rebel flag, not the confederate flag, because that’s what it meant for us back when we were divided. It was a populist movement bringing attention to the people of the south and their pride and to fight against others pulling us down. Some might have taken the flag and used it as a symbol of hate, but it never meant that. My grandfather used to sit under the porch, under the shade of that flag and talk with his black and white friends in the evenings about stuff, and we heard their laughter inside the house. Love you guys btw

As a person who's family lived through and survived communism/dictatorship I always tell this when I help American tourist as a local historian and tour guide " You thank God everyday you were born with your liberties and your freedom for many of my countrymen died on Ideologies made by a German man. A country that has no opposing perspective is not a republic but, a Dictatorship either by one man or a small group of powerful people ".. My grandfather's whole family was slaughtered in killing fields for promoting democracy and liberty by human rights.

First song, then your questions. The simplicity of drum and trumpet for what is effectively a Rap March makes this song. The lyrics could be used as cadence and marched to in military formation. And as to patriotism, mine is to the principles of the Constitution contained in the Declaration of Independence. But that is nit-pickin'. I am going to say BLM cannot be right: It is principled upon segregation. We are one nation. BLM is a Marxist backed, Marxist trained, organization seeking to undermine our Constitutional principles and divide US by race, sex, ethnicity, and religion in order to promulgate insurgency and race war. Our enemy, China, has infiltrated the corporatists of both parties and have the natural allegiance of the Leftists. Among the corporatists the Chinese have subverted are the Mainstream Media outlets (MSM). They have used favored nation status and money given, flat out given, to them by our government to buyout and and buy off our corporate elites and political class. Then those organizations, making news approved by the Chinese Communist Party to sell to the Chinese people about how bad the US is, take every story they can twist into a negative narrative (and lie) about the United States and magnify it to be the only thing anyone hears around the world. They are creating overreactions, such as the overreaction to George Floyd's tragic and unnecessary death. I watched the video of Floyd's death, and then Officer Derek Chauvin, as people were suggesting he back off, had the exact same face I have seen on a number of guys: the face that says "I am the professional. I know what I am doing. No ignorant civvy is going to tell me how to do my job." To quote the Proverb: "Pride goeth before the fall." He was a stubborn jerk and I might even conceded testosterone poisoned. However, the facts are that there is not a rampant trend of police brutality. And if you want to look at the numbers that are important, the data I analyzed in 2016 showed that of those incredibly few people killed by police during an encounter 95.8% were men. Of those police murdered by civilians during an encounter 95.7 were men. Now, if you can convince only females to be cops and robbers, I would bet the ratio of deaths goes down dramatically. But if we hire only female cops while male criminals out-muscle them by an average of 100 to 200 lbs, I don't think that will have a positive result. I researched this in 2016. I can provide you links, and maybe all of them will even still work. The following is based on 2016 data sets derived from the Census estimates, Tracking of Fatal Force by the Washington Post, and statistics for 2016 from the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund which has more accurate tracking on law enforcement than government agencies to whom reporting is voluntary, not comparable, or not centralized. In a census estimated population for 2016 the US had 322,762,018 people; Of those 37,685,848 or 12.2% are estimated to be Black, 50,477,594 or 16.3% are estimated to be Latino, 196,817,552 or 63.7% are estimated to be White, and a little over 900,000 are identified by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund as Law Enforcement or 0.28%. According to tracking of Fatal Force by the Washington Post for the year 2016 there were a total of 963 people shot or killed by police. Of these 233 were Black or 0.61836518046709129511677282377919 per 100,000, 160 were Latino or 0.31695721077654516640253565768621 per 100,000, and 465 were White coming to 0.23628048780487804878048780487805 per 100,000. To make the numbers more manageable I will round to the nearest 1,000th: Black - 0.618/100,000, Latino - 0.317/100,000, and White - 0.236/100,000. Total line of duty deaths for 2016 came to 146. Of those deaths the following I have separated out because they were not definitely deliberate, which does not mean that none of these were the murder of a police officer, only that it is rational that they may not be or cannot be: 9/11 related illness: 4, Aircraft accident: 1, Animal related: 1, Automobile crash: 20, Drowned: 2, Duty related illness: 1, Fall: 1, Gunfire (Accidental): 3, Heart attack: 11, Motorcycle crash: 8, Struck by train: 1, Struck by vehicle: 9, and Vehicle pursuit: 4. That accounts for 66/146 or roughly 45% of Line of Duty deaths in 2016. The remainder of Line of Duty deaths then is 80/146 which are from Assault: 3, Gunfire: 63, Stabbed: 1, and Vehicular assault: 13. This is the number I used to establish the 8.889/100,000. This means an officer is 14.374821173104434907010014306152 times more likely to be murdered in the Line of Duty than a Black person is to be killed by a law enforcement officer. In percentage terms that renders an officer 1,437% more likely to be murdered in the line of duty than a Black person is to be killed by a police officer at any time - accidentally, in self defense, or deliberately. The US has a total of about 900,000 law enforcement officers to monitor for criminal behavior. There are about 700,000 of those which are on the front line, boots on the ground, while the rest are support staff and administration overseen by civilian agencies and administrations who might not have any law enforcement training or experience. As of 2016, these officers watch a current population of 327,978,600 persons of which about 28,206,160 are convicted felons. So there is 1 officer per 40 felons and 1 officer per 468.5 persons. Divided by shift there will be about 2 officers on day shift per 1 on evening and night shift. So during the day there is 1 officer per 322 felons (which may or may not be committing a crime again) and 1 per 3,426 potential first time offenders. On the evening and night shift that doubles to 1 officer per 644 felons (which may or may not be committing a crime again) and 1 per 6,852 potential first time offenders. Further, the killing of persons that come into contact with the police doesn't happen that often. How do we know? Because you know their names. It happens so rarely in a nation of nearly 330,000,000 people you can look up and list all of their names. In 2015, according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, approximately 53.5 million Americans over the age of 16 had contact with the police. Ceteris paribus in 2016, where the Washington Post reported there were 465 White, 233 Black, and 160 Hispanic deaths, by negligence, accident, or on purpose, from the police for a total of 963 what is the statistical result? In a then population of 322,762,018 that is a total of 0.000002983%. How in the hell is that "way too often" or anyplace close to routine enough to be considered some stretched definition of systemic? There is NO vast racist behavior by the police. NO ONE is hunting down "young people simply because of the color of their skin". Stop lying to yourself, drop the racism, and start being an American instead of someone that chooses to exclude themselves with their own racist self-fulfilling prophecy - one you have to lie to yourself in order to make be true. My recommendation would be to hire more police. The US has a felony population of about 27,757,534 both in and out of prison. About 6,207,000 are on probation or parole. The rest are either in prison or no longer on probation or parole. That means, not counting first-time offenders in waiting and petty crime, there is approximately 1 officer for every 30 felons. I would suggest that changing that ratio, going back to the days of having beat cops walking every neighborhood, would improve both the relationship between law enforcement and civilians as well as deter more crime, while helping officers to feel safer and less overwhelmed by hostile communities. People like to compare us to other nations, such as France and Germany where incarceration rates are lower and crime is lower. But they don't give the numbers that tell why crimes are lower: France has 340 officers per 100k population, at roughly 1 officer per 1⅛ square mile. Germany has 381 officers per 100k population, at 2⅓ officers per square mile covered. The US has 238 officers per 100k pop, at 1 officer per 5.5 square miles. We have higher rates of crime because we lack a deterring police presence. We only keep enough police to make arrests, and obviously not enough to avoid the police being overwhelmed by any real social upheaval - as has been recently demonstrated. To have the deterring coverage of France to Germany by population, we would need 336,600 to 471,900 more officers. To have that coverage by square mile, we would need between 2,589,482 to 8,073,665 more officers.

I appreciate what you said about the Confederate flag and I thank you for having an open mind being able to see both sides the flag isn't racist it's the racist bigot assholes that give it a bad name.. Having said that that is not my thing ( and I'm a big hairy white dude) I am not from the south but I don't think someone should feel a certain way about someone that is flying it until they know something about the person. I've always said I start everyone off neutral it's up to them where we go from from there. I have white family members that I don't want them to know where I live and I got black dudes that have the key code to my basement in case they need something when I'm not home. Love that you include the family and much love and good things in the new year! 🍻🍻

What he is saying is that this is the land of the free. I dont agree with everything anyone says, I can atleast agree with this...this is the land of the free, and I who come a multi racial back ground, I'm not multi racial, but hard to explain in a comment. I can say, I have blood who are multi human, and we are human, the difference is what color you rep! Mine is red, white and blue. I got a feeling you do too! Love yalls reaction, and even if we dont all agree, that's awesome, because that's the point! We all want the same thing, keep america the land of the free. Asian, black, white, red, and brown made that happen. We all all brothers and sisters, we just get past the B.S!

My take is simple. As long as it remains a black v white issue, the government wins. When we set aside skin color and make it a black and white against corruption, only then will we truly be at peace as one. Segregation is a badge of slavery - dissenting opinion, 1899 civil rights decision. Be more than the color of our skin. The best way to start, the next time you have a conversation regarding the people in your circle, leave out race; I don't have black friends, or mexican friends, or white friends, I have a close knit circle... of friends.

Thank you for being what you both are and trying to start conversations. You are appreciated and have earned another sub. So here is my take on your question and is only my opinion. We are not patriots to the government but patriots to America and all it stands for including everyones rights. We are granted our freedoms on the blood of soldiers who fight and die not for the goverment that controls them but for each other and for us. We all owe them the honor of living our best lives and like Acal said in the song stand up to terrorist organizations dividing us like BLM. They only riot and march for high profile police shootings to stir up the locals and cause havoc. They are and were a political arm of the democratic party to make the country look unstable under Trump. Like it or not what do we have now? Corona out of control, the highest gas prices since Obama, rising inflation and soon to be rising cost of everything. Out of work people loosing housing protections, Unable to buy vehicles because of part shortages and when you do your paying $20k or more than worth, American military viewed as weak because of our leader so they are challenged by China/Russia/N Korea all over the world. Not even going into the disaster at Kabul where they knew 48hrs in advance of an impending attack yet did nothing. Ask a parent of the marines killed for that take yet after the attack we could successfully track and destroy the other suicide bombers.
