I love you! I have a beetle bubble counter and haven't use it for months. Now that i know, i should use the silicone hose. So informative
Great video Ryo , I love both of them!!! But anything ADA before Mr. Amano passed away, @:least to me it will always have a special connection! So happy for you that your friend gave you the one you have wanted for a while & that is the 1st time that anyone has ever said not to use co 2 hose on glass co 2 accessories .... In my past I have broke my share and that is how it happened but I never even thought it was from using the hose everyone said to use " always " live and learn 💙💚

Yeah, I learnt about that when I used to work for Aqua Revue. Silicone/airline tubing to connect to glass products.
Very cool!!! I personally also like the bettle counter better... even though they are both made of glass, this one seems to be more robust. But the input and output of the new one have more logic, because it has a continuity and in practice it seems to me that it is more useful to have the input and output at different ends.
Gotta say, the new one is super clean! I like the bottom in, too out look. Keeps everything in line which is nice
Great video Ryo! These products are gorgeous ðŸ˜

Thank you Jordan :)
Just saw this on the video you released today and have been looking for one!
Ive always enjoyed the look and performance of the Takashi Amano beetle counter, However the Twist counter is slim and easy to "fill", and attach to your aqaurium. Great video ðŸ‘
Hi, and thanks for your valuable time doing these videos. I would like to add one more to your list of CO2 bubble counters, and it's the following: ISTA 3 in 1 CO2 Diffuser Bubble Counter Check Valve. Cheers !!
Really like this Video. Great job Ryo 👊ðŸ»
We definitly need another in depth tour of Aqua Revenue 😠Your last one is my favourit video on the internet ☺ï¸
The twist one is my fave, slim and elegant. Price is premium so i would stick to the 4 dollar clear one any day, maybe the twist on a main attraction just to spice it up.
I love your videos! Hey Can all the types of bubble counters that you showed here can be filled with glycerine?
I have 2 Bettle Counters myself. They are amazing piece of art - they were pricy, but worth the money. Sometimes I am just spending time just looking at counter itself - it can hypnotize :)
I just started into aquascaping and this video helps me a lot
I like the beetle one best. Plus it being discontinued just adds to the "coolness" factor. That thing is a must have if you are a fan of seeing art, design and engineering all intersect into one thing.
Need another fish store tour at Aqua Review Ryo. Store looks awesome. Thx for the bubble counter review
I don't think we should downplay aesthetics in freshwater bc why not enjoy something and have crazy looking stuff? I usually am not too fond of what comes out but I think most people could 'decorate' their tanks more and make it more enjoyable I just usually tend to lend towards natural looking stuff but fancy glass pieces are always nice.
Those bubble counter are cool but as you said a little pricey. I want one though lol. Btw I really enjoy your channel. Keep up the good work.
I use a UNS beetle counter. $25. Looks just like the ADA, without the branding.
The classic beetle counter is such a beautiful design but the new twist counter is as well, but I still prefer the look of the beetle counter over it. With that said these are products I only ever enjoy in videos and when visiting ADA stores or galleries. I move around for work so not a practical item for me, I would stress over breaking one if I had it. I always just go for efficiency and a minimalist look so I use the style of bubble counter that is attached to the co2 regulator, it is affordable, works great, durable, and out of sight from the aquarium.
Beetle !!! Alot cooler !! Thanks ryo
love your vid
Definitely want the beetle counter! Can’t find one here in US though... Side note: when you were talking about the counter on the island themed tank with hygrophila pinatifida/Anubias nano petite, I kept thinking how difficult it must be for maintenance as the hard scrape was pretty close to the wall and there’s also ?Colorado sand, yet it’s spotlessly clean! Great video as alway!
@RyoWatanabee

Thanks. I used to work at that shop and that’s honestly the easiest tank to maintain. The rocks are really not that close to the glass. They always use the pro razor to clean it so it’s quite easy. And also not many plants to trim and it’s mostly slow growing. Also, it’s the longest running tank in the store, running like that for 5+ years
super cool
I like the whole store. Wish we had ADA store selling ADA products in India. ADA products is available in throughout India through a importer distributor network in Bangalore but no specific company based retail store. ADA and Oase products are very good.
I like both, but very expensive here in Australia 🇦🇺
Hi Ryo, would you consider making a video about DOOA system Terra 30? I see that Aqua Revew have at least one!
I prefer the old Ada, if I can get one I'll buy it but I use the same you have on your co2 valve. Nice video has always, good luck on fighting algea in your contest tank

Thank you 😊 hope I’m able to recover the tank
I don't know much about CO² so someone feel free to answer but do you actually need these bubble counters or are they more for aesthetic?
I like the ADA's bubble counter because of how it looks when the Co2 is running.
The 'old' one looks more durable to me, since it doesn't have any moving parts. I'm not running any co2 yet though, so I may be wrong.
Hello ryo.i like bigger one,but actually you don't need that.only for watching is nice.i prefer in-line difuzer And bublecounter.i like everything is hide also heater
Like both of them but the old school the best Beetle counter
I personally don't like to use glass (except the tank of course). It is prone to breakage, plus the dangers of glass pieces injuring your fingers. I had one of the glass diffusers exploding in the tank due to blockage of the sintered glass and too much pressure (above 5 bar). What a mess it made on the substrate with tiny little pieces of glass to pick out later.
there are a lot of bubble counter in the market, including chinese made one. So can you compare the BPS across s different counter cuz different bubble counter may have different bubble size right?
I like the beetle counter more. Kind of mad at myself that I didn’t get one before they stopped making them.
the beatle counter because it looks the coolest.
Both are lovely..I also prefer the look of the beetle counter. I run low tech tanks, so I don't have any CO2.
@RyoWatanabee

I've gotta start doing some low tech tanks! I'm just scared I'll kill my plants without any co2! Do you have any tips on growing plants in a low tech environment?
@LeilaSoleil
2 жыл бұрын
@@RyoWatanabee Well, I failed with many. lol. I look for hardy ones, read about what may work in low tech. Crypts, anubias and java fern are awesome. I have had decent luck with Buce. I give them 8 hrs of light a day, and struggle with algae. lol. Otos are completely necessary. I fertilize regularly. Root tabs and Easy Green. I'm certainly no expert, but I guess I am constantly learning. I love it.

I actually kind of like the challenge of doing low tech. Hahhha. Must be my stubborn streak.
I like both. But having a counter that isn't manufactured anymore is awesome!

Yeah haha, ADA has a few discontinued products. The prices on those just keep going up. A good investment to have a few ADA goods 😅
I prefer the twist because it's more slender and the hose placement not so distracting, overall not as obtrusive.
Where this shop located? Hope it is Japan. Are from Tokyo🗼? Nice video and very useful and informative🎉ðŸ‘

It’s located in Aichi, Anjo shi
I think this is just the fancy equivalent of those treasure trove bubblers! I'd rather spend my money on plants! ;-)
A Tuesday updattteeeeeee
Just a thought.. Do in line CO2 diffusers have bubble counter?
@tetraguytx1705
2 жыл бұрын
My in-line C02 diffuser itself does not have a bubble counter, but my C02 regulator has a bubble counter on it.
Hi Ryo, what shops would you recommend hitting for a 1st time visitor to Tokyo? I'm assuming the ADA museum and Amano house.
@RyoWatanabee
2 жыл бұрын
Ada gallery and Amano’s house is not in Tokyo. And not anyone can go to his house. If you’re looking for ADA in Tokyo, I’ll recommend Aqua Take E

@@RyoWatanabee Appreciate the feedback. I'm gonna be out there in the next few weeks and figured I'd try to hit as many nature style aquarium shops as possible. Do you ever do meet-ups?
Beetle counter looks best. Then twist counter
So Nice but expensive
Damn't i just broke two nano diffuser and one of bubble counted
ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘
Mine is so cool I put it inside my cabinet.
The bubble counter is $100+ last time I saw it at my local store in 2020, could be way more expensive now.
I don't see much value in displaying a bubble counter no matter how pretty. I prefer to hide a routine one (Iska's similar to the second from the right) in the cabinet. And I like that I can unscrew the water chamber to refill it without disconnecting the CO2 hoses.
Anyone know what the red plant at 5:55 is ?
Wish I could find the beetle counter for sale
smooth transition 10:56
I use the cheap ones, but if I had unlimited funds I would go to the ADA one :)
I don't need one, but I would like one. Still cannot seem to find it here in Europe though.
@RyoWatanabee
2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it just released in Japan last week. It’s still not available in other countries.
Bit late to the video but I have my likes and dislikes on both. My like on the beetle is that it is one piece and doesn't move around on the inside and how wide it is, my dislike on it is the 90 degree at the top. My like on the new twist is the lack of 90 angles, but my dislike is that the inside isn't one full piece as the price is the same. I'm sure it is easier to make but costs just as much so that doesn't make sense to me. The only other twist you didn't mention is some are built into the diffuser. I was personally going to go with both a twist and built into the diffuser because I like the looks.
hello I'm from Indonesia 🇮🇩, very lucky to meet you, even though we are from different countries. your video work is very beautiful, I always see it from every notification message that comes to the end of the video, I really appreciate your work, hopefully we can meet again in the latest video!

Beetle counter for me.
i feel fancy things for aquarium, who have money why not,,
How do you keep algae from growing inside the bubble counter? Seems like you are using water not mineral oil.
@RyoWatanabee
Жыл бұрын
Use tap water and don't dechlorinate it. You won't get algae
@StoneWhiteDaytona
Жыл бұрын
@@RyoWatanabee any reason not to use mineral oil? Wouldn’t get algae and won’t get evaporation… Cause chlorine will evaporate in time as well!
@RyoWatanabee

@@StoneWhiteDaytona Because I’ve never seen one with algae and water at that amount is basically free. If you can send me some mineral oil, I’ll use it for sure. Me living in Japan, I don’t know which exact type to buy and which one is safe to use.

@@RyoWatanabee ahh just wondering if it was designed specifically not to have oil or if you used water because it was easier. I bought one of these on eBay and didn’t come with instructions so trying to set it up for least amount of maintenance.
Does anyone know where to buy the beetle counter online? Interested in one myself but can’t find it anywhere. Thanks in advance!

Beetle counter looks better
If I were a rich man Ya ba dibba dibba dibba dibba dibba dibba dum... LOL ðŸ™
I had kock-off versions of these counters on my tanks. I actually found it distracting visually and removed them all.
@RyoWatanabee
2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they can be distracting but I personally really like it. I think ADA uses the beetle counter on all their large tanks at the gallery.
Early post i see haha
old one is nicer
Ok... there may be a novelty value, with the bubbles spinning around, rather than just rising, like in the simpler designs... But $100 for a fragile glass toy versus the far more robust and equally effective $4 option? No contest!!! I lost interest as soon as the price was revealed. Totally nuts! There are far more important things to spend that amount of cash on, in order to provide real benefits to your aquarium!
definately the cheap one...the 4 dollar counter
@RyoWatanabee
