Ad Infintium is one of my favourite bands, they are honest, Melissa and and also the band are very kind and humble. And her voice O-M-G from heaven and sometimes from hell🤗 . This is a production, but she brings it live the same way. 🤘

Melissa is Swiss, the guys are German. Love her voice, as you see she can growl too, but uses that sparingly. 3 albums to date, this is from the 2nd in 2021. She is married to Morten Lowe Sorensen, drummer for the Swedish metal band Amaranthe. They have another project together, a band called Dark Side of the Moon (Not to be confused with the Pink Floyd album, lol). For more from Ad Infinitum, check out "Upside Down" live in Oberhausen 2022. To hear the other project , DSOTM, try The Gates of Time. I would say the original requester made a typo, writing 'of' instead of ' or'. Within Temptation is another band name. Within Temptation is a Dutch female fronted symphonic metal band, and has been around as long as Nightwish, I'll suggest the song "Ice Queen" for an older song, and "Don't Pray For Me" for a newer song.

I think the original requestor had a typo and probably meant to say Ad Infinitum OR Within Temptation, which is another symphonic metal band (and is also one you’ll probably appreciate, by the way). In addition to her work with Ad Infinitum, Melissa Bonny is also the vocalist for the Dark Side of the Moon project, which is a bit more in the progressive metal realm.

Melissa is in my top 3 metal singers with Floor and Simone from Epica. Melissa is also in another band, The Dark Side of the Moon. They are a super group of sorts with members from Feuerschwanz and Amaranthe. Melissa does guest appearances with several bands including Feuerschwanz and Kamelot.

I've always liked your style, man. Sorry for the typos. I'm pretty sure it was 1 a.m. and I was hammered (I doubt it, but that's the story I'm going with). And yeah, I meant Ad Infinitum OR Within Temptation. That's what I get for swinging for the fences. My favorite song by them is "Somewhere Better," but it's not as representative as "Unstoppable."

You absolutely need to check out Dianthus. Twin sisters. Melodic metal. Guitar and bass. Both sing. 'Realms'.

Brilliant band, saw them at the end of 2022 with another couple of bands, Amaranthe already mentioned here in the comments, and also Beyond the Black. Beyond the Black I think you would really like too, would recommend their official (studio or live, whichever you prefer) version of is there anybody out there. Hehe. Confusing German lettering. It's not actually a Greek letter in the Guitarist's name, rather a very German one. "Eszett" aka "sharp S," it's a bit difficult to explain but essentially it sits somewhere between a single S and double-S. Fallen out of favour a bit and often replaced with a simple ss. So Thessenvitz would be his name.

Outstanding vocals…truly. Ok, my turn to play critic… Is double kick the only thing the drummers for these bands know? Where’s the swing? Where’s groove? Where’s the melody in the guitar playing? Guitar players from the 70’s and 80’s, including Ace Frehley, could play circles around most of these metal band guitar players. I’ll take a less skilled melodic player who writes great riffs and plays with feel any day. I guess that’s why we say, each to their own and there’s something for everyone.

The double bass thing is way overdone in modern music IMO. I remember when Eric Singer joined KISS and he added that to some of the classics on ALIVE III, but in spots, not non-stop. It can be awesome but as I am seeing with most modern metal bands..it can also get carried away.

@@rankortankmusic I like double kick as much as the next person, but when it fits the song, and not every single song in a band’s catalogue. It’s like all the effects used in modern production. I prefer the natural sound of the instruments with effects used as some added spice to emphasize certain notes and make it stand out.
