Cinzia, I had my first smear last year and it was over within 5mins (couple of questions and swabbing) honestly doesn't hurt and is only slightly uncomfortable but its over before you know it don't worry x

I’ve had a smear and I didn’t even feel it the ‘worst’ part was how cold the speculum was! Literally didn’t feel a thing. And you don’t get a mammogram unless they suspect you have breast cancer or any issues with your breasts.

Had my first smear test a few months ago and it’s genuinely not bad at all, they just ask you to be relaxed and put your hips up a bit, then a minute later it’s all done. You have to be relaxed though…if you need a tip I sang Mysterious Girl in my head 😂

I have had 2 smear tests. It's honestly not bad. Just try and relax and it takes a few seconds. As a nurse having cared for ladies in their 30s with terminal illness the minute the letter comes through, please book!

They send you your smear test letter 6 months before your 25th birthday. It’s not bad at all I was scared but I barely felt a thing. You’ll be fine and you got this!

In the US it’s common to have a Pap smear after you have your period. I have had one every year since I was 16 and I’m 37 now. It’s no big deal.
