I was one of those people who had a Mini stroke in March 2021 and was treated at the Royal Adelaide Hospital by the Stroke team. I had a stent put in my right side of my brain via my wrist instead of my groin. After a few hours in recovery then I was transferred to a Rehab Centre nearby for the next few months to recover properly. After a few months, I was discharged from the Rehab Centre and sent back home to recover properly and start my home Rehab. So far I am doing okay.

My ex just had a serious stroke. He was not found until 24 hours after the stroke because he lives alone. Is there ANY chance of him recovering? His right side is paralyzed. and his speech is affected. Can the brain cells re-grow and re-learn those skills? It's terrifying.

It's difficult to tell without examine the patient's MRI and Physical exam, what I can tell you, as time passes in a major stroke, more part of brain damages thereby our body loses more of its functionality.

Yeah. By the time I was admitted into the ER I was coherent and feeling fine. Then by the time they transferred me into the neurological ward, all my symptoms resolved. MRI and eeg all came back negative. So it’s a little frustrating as we couldn’t figure out the cause, but thankful for the complete recovery

At this stage, the pt might be on a combination of drugs to prevent new clots from forming. You mentioned aspirin. There’s also Plavix, a platelet inhibitor. If the pt has atrial fibrillation, he should be on an anticoagulant like warfarin, Xarelto or Eliquis, and an antiarrhythmic to keep rate under control, such as a beta blocker, amiodarone or digoxin.

My father recently have had an ischemic stroke we didn't recognised it because the symptoms wasn't that obvious to us we took him to " hospital " after 4 day because of many medical complications of SINTROM (over dose) and increasing of white blood cells (due to microbe), they did nothing to him regarding the stroke even I told the medicin that my dad mental abilities are decreasing , no scan no phisical test we leaved hospital to home, after 6 days I took him back to that hospital to be seen by a neurologist and they did a scan (CT scan I think) the images said that the brain is normal but the medicin said he had a stroke, they gave him meds (Manettol as I remember), his health isn't that bad now but many of brain cells are damaged he had some strange behavior somtimes especialy when he is sleepy :( the medicine in this third world country is so bad they don't give a fuck about other's lives, no humanity, no conscience. thats our story

My mom is doing 12 years of strokes patients...in the first few months she could not talk, walk but little by little she recovers well, I always ask..mom what was going through your mind? Were you hearing us, when we speak? How were you feeling during this process? What was the main thing we should have done to you? In all of this her main answers were just give me a nutmeg under my tongue, and a pen and book to write on, so after 11 years this occurred again, we did exactly what she required, and this worked....her age 78 eat and drink a lot of water, her inside felt unbalanced, & hot just give me water

I believe it does. I nursed a patient with an ischemic stroke to the MCA. Blood pressures were uncomfortably high for me, but the person was asymptomatic. I asked the stroke team what they planned for treating it but they kept them high (180 systolic) for 48hrs before adding more anti-hypertensive medications.

No, ma'am. Heparin allows the clot to naturally degrade over time by not allowing expansion and reinforcement of the clot structure, but it will not dissolve the existing clot. tPA will restore circulation by degrading the fibrin that holds the clot together. Not the same thing.
