Scott Pearson Not sure. I've always known it from the 34. And I think it was popularized on the 34 for sure. Either way, definitely an amazing color.

Most of the time doing things the right way requires money. A lot of people start with Hondas as an introduction into the car game too. "Cheap" and "Honda build" goes hand in hand.

Want to go up in there and pay the money and/or do the work yourself? Doing a car the right way takes time and money, especially if it's more of a "side job" and not one of the main cars being worked on by the shop.

I helped plenty when my car was resprayed. Other than paint and alignments, 100% of my car's maintenance and repairs have been performed by me, over the last 17 years and 275,000 miles.

So glad that you uploaded this because I have to go through the same exact process on my integra

Honda/Acura has always used cheap paint. The paint they use is some of the worst in the industry and why it ages badly, rust in the North, faded clearcoat in the South. I’m a full time professional auto detailer and black Honda/Acura’s are absolutely a nightmare.

I always use bug and tar remover on peelable paint, works every time and comes off easily.

Welcome to older Honda cars that have been left outside in the sun a lot. This is why Milano Red turns to Milano Pink when it is not taken care of. I did manage to polish my friend's 1991 Acura Integra GS back to red instead of having a pink roof.

Bet your pads turned purple in the process huh? That's why Milano Red is a weird color. The paint is more pink and then the clear is tinted purple to make the overall color come out red.

Surprisingly, no, the pads were pink going into red as I polished and buffed. Will say, my friend did not recognize his car when I got it back to him though. Took me nearly 4 hours of polishing and buffing by hand to get the car looking better. My personal car is the weird red that looks almost purple as the clear coat peels off.

they have a product called dip dissolver for situations like this.

Pallundnations a rubber block (used to clean sand paper) works well too.

All that work mine as well bought an aftermarket hood since he bought aftermarket fender already

Just to let you know for safety, those respirators are for dust not any kinds of hazardous fumes. They only filter basic household dust to stop irritation, if you need to filter things like paint fumes invest in a half face respirator like what they use in factories it'll keep your lungs a lot cleaner and they're reusable too.

lol i have been a painter at a Cadillac dealership body shop for 8 years now im 27, people have no idea how much work is involved to actually paint a car all over, and even more change the color. especially older cars that god knows what has happened to them throughout its lifetime, hack work ect. I actually repaired and repainted my red 95 ls integra i had a few years back. 140k all original down the radio and everything worked perfectly. shaved the spoiler and antenna, it was a-lot of work but it turned out great and i definitely regret selling it. it was a great car and i did so much work just to make a few 100$ after all said and done. watching this takes me back hahaha

I'm so excited for this build and the first track day cars already looking better. If I were you I would definitely put a carbon fiber hood on it anyone else agree.

I did 2 coats of plasti dip on my fusion and to remove it when I sold it I just sprayed it with goo gone and hit it with a pressure washer. Took less than 20 minutes.

That dip is like the story of when I bought my TSX for the grille and the wheels. Omg it sucked so bad.

So apply the airplane stripper with a paint brush, wait, then use a grinder.

There will be no aircraft on this hood after the aircraft remover does its job. The rest of the video was fun to watch, especially for someone who can't do anything like this themselves

For future reference use 3m adhesive remover on plasti dip. Soak a rag in it and it'll wipe dip off like it's water.

Hey david. the best way to get thin plasti dip off is spraying gas on it.

PPE tip! You’re probably not wearing the correct masks for the paint remover. The white ones work for particulates but you want a respirator and filters for organic vapors. Just a headache and cancer saving suggestion.

Should of taken my car here for paint lol. My recent paint job experience was horrible.

Nice I've been there i have owned/modded Honda's for 10 yrs and they have some of the poorest paint and clear coat. I get why guys get frustrated and rattle can them.
