Actual Play - Zweihander Grim and Perilous RPG - Character Creation

Ойын-сауық

This morning, we took our first step into the grim and perilous world of the Zweihander RPG, rolling up four grim & perilous heroes, introducing them to the City of Crossings, and commenced an investigation into a series of mysterious disappearances in their neighbourhood.
You can also purchase a copy of Zweihander, yourself, at Grim & Perilous Studios or DriveThru RPG:

I dig this method of character generation. Screw making choices, let the fates decide!

I agree. There are times when I like building a character and times when I like seeing a character come together through random char gen.

Random rolling is my only method of character creation, unless of course the game doesn't allow randos.

@@DaveTheGM The MinMax Game can be quiet fun, especially when some cool backround-ideas blitz up in the mind while going. But your right! I needed to get a pretty old gamer until learning to appreciate random generation, but today I enjoy it so much more.

I use to love running and playing the old Warhammer Fantasy TTRPG. Look forward to seeing this.

I kept wanting to scream UPBRINGING while you were looking for the favored attributes. Also going in order of the Character Creation summary does help with that final step of spending those sweet sweet Reward Points! Your favorite attribute might effect the cost of those starting skills!!! :) still fun to watch you guys get your characters made. I'm still waiting for my first actual play session on 1/25/20.

Yeah definitely don't spend your reward points until last but not sure the game is very clear on that. And favoured attribute only effects focuses for skills, so it's kinda lame really.

I double checked the core book and it does not look like you start with any cash other than your trappings, whether using the professions from the Starter Set or the core book/Player's Handbook. Hope that helps!

@@DungeonMusings Well... I think that's pretty weird. I mean, if someone starts as an aristocrat and has zero money.... I have been hunting all over the internet with every possible combination of search terms. But thanks a lot for looking that up for and for your answer.

@@DungeonMusings i think it's meant to be left up to the GM and something reasonable. I will make up a way. It's not like I haven't been a dungeon master since 1983. 😂

@@daemeonation3018 De nada! I think the intention is for the heroes to start broke and hungry, to motivate them to get involved with some grim and perilous adventure, so even if they came from privilege and wealth....they have left that life behind them by the time they start adventuring. Hope you have a blast with ZH!

@@DungeonMusings perhaps. That's another way to look at it. I am moving to Shanghai next month to I hope to find some friends. Because I don't have any now and I don't want to play with strangers online especially being a system I don't yet know.
