Hey all - *so good* to be back. I think this might be my favorite thing Dimash has done (Ogni Pietra is also in that conversation). May be a bit rusty, but so glad we're here again. Sorry the audio’s a skosh off - my software decided to not record audio, so I had to do it manually and it ain’t perfect. A show that I’m in, “The Coroner's Assistant,” will hopefully be out soon, and here are the links to the two current trailers if anyone wants to watch: Trailer 1: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dH52p7qfhtHMZpc.html Trailer 2: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dY2Dm4-uaJOpibQ.html

Every time I open you from a new side !!! You are a very deep and interesting person, a person close to art, creativity, perhaps due to your profession of an actor ... I am a Kazakh, this composition is understandable and close to me ... Our ancestors won back in fierce battles and left us, their descendants, the ninth largest territory of the earth ... The land is sacred to us and we value it. It was interesting for me to understand what you experience when listening to another music, another language !!! But Dimash, like no one else in the whole world, can tell and convey any story in any language !!! It's Dimash !!! I am proud that he is my fellow countryman, we were both born and raised in the city of Aktobe, Kazakhstan !!! Looking forward to new reactions!

There is literally no need for words, when it comes to this beautiful prayer. Dimash’s videos are ones you have to watch over, and over again, because there is so much details and content to catch the first time. The love Dimash has for his country , he wants to share with the rest of the world. My conclusion is, another MASTERPIECE. Thanks for your wonderful reaction. 🎼🎶🎤🇰🇿❤️🇺🇸🙏🏼

Dimash's music videos are more like little motion picture movies, visually stunning like paintings, full of little details, metaphores. The interpretation is up to the viewer - this song was written during the first few months of the pandemic therefore influenced by it. My interpretation - never to forget the hardship, the suffering but the land, life itself is endless and there will be a new sunrise after the hardship.

That‘s the difference between you and all the other reactors. You notice and analyze everything. I really appreciate it. I know that you already reacted to the song Love of tired swans but I really would like to see/hear your analysis of this song from his music video. It‘s not directed by him but still worth watching it. It’s also very symbolic and meaningful. I‘m curious if you discover all the hidden meanings. Please give it a try. Maybe you watch the first couple of seconds and then decide if it’s worth to do to a reaction video. I count on you 😉

Introduction to Dimash video Qaran Elim I am speaking of the land which spreads across the four directions. I am speaking of the Altai mountains and the region of Atyrau, the rivers Zhaiyk and Ile, the Alatau mountain range and the Saryarka Uplands, about the finest vast lands of all time. I am speaking of the Great Steppe, the cradle of the Turkic realm, which gave rise to the nomads. O silent world, do not hold your breath inside! You have a generation who boldly withstood the struggle, A kind owner with a gehnerous soul and a compassionate character, constant against the dark transgressions of a changing world. The Great Steppe has a guardian spirit, unknown to a stranger, incomprehensible to an outsider.

In this music video, Dimash is the picture of a self-actualized person.. A true definition of someone who has found and embodied the gift they were given and has chosen to give it away to the world, to us. Isn't that the true purpose of life after all? I hope we all can achieve our full potentials and won't leave this earth without having contributed in a meaningful way..Just like Dimash.. And you too, Cedric. Looks like you have found the treasure you were blessed with too, and you are working hard to give it away. A human being is not a beast. He is only truly happy when he gives, not when he takes. Sending love from Istanbul 🤍

Such an insightful comment - thanks so much! I'm completely in love with Cedric's analyses (though of course, not _quite_ as much as I am with our Dear-est Dimash!), to the point I've watched just this one reaction about 5 or 6 times already - at least!😳 - which I'm aware sounds like a lot, but in my defense (excuses, excuses!) it *has* been over the space of 2 years, so...😛😆

Cedric, thanks for this reaction video. You very subtly felt the meaning of the song and all the nuances, even without knowing the language. We, the Kazakhs, are very proud of our Dimash, he is the son of his people, and he so penetratingly reflects all the aspirations and thoughts of his people, he feels his people so deeply and demonstrates to the world our history, our view of the world. And you so accurately caught all this and told in your video... This means Dimash's art has no borders...neither physical... nor spiritual

Here is the translation of the intro to "Qairan elim," which was performed in the clip by the charismatic and impressive voice of Yisbek Abilmazhinov. „Great steppe ... I'm talking about that great steppe, where the four sides of the world converged. I'm talking about the vastness and breadth of the spreading steppes from Altai and Atyrau, Zhaiyk and Ile, Alatau and Saryarka. I'm talking about the Earth, where the Turkic tribe originates. Eh, world, relax. There are descendants who survived after bloody wars and strife, descendants are still alive who, despite the difficulties, have not lost their hospitality, generosity, descendants are still alive - the patrons of the Great Steppe, which is unfathomable to strangers. " Here you can read about the intentions of the song from official side: en.dimashnews.com/a-new-video-qairan-elim-was-released-on-dimashs-channel/ The guy playing the piano is Renat Gaissin the composer of this beautiful melody. And the movie snippets at the intro are provided footage from the movie Tomiris. There are so many little details in the video… like a stone dropping into the calm lake and causing little waves or the blood drop in the Qobyz also has a little flame… Well at least everybody will find his own interpretation. I only know that it still touches me deeply and I feel embraced by Dimash.

Dimash is very, very deeply rooted in his culture and strongly patriotic for his country (Kazakhstan). Kazakhstan is a newly independent country (1991) who fought and lost many to get their independence. So alot of this is about that but its also his expression of the pandemic and loosing people close to him due to it. He's an incredibly old soul who's caring runs deep through him. He's mentioned many times of his concern of the state of the world currently. 💙💙 Here is an article explaining the MV. en.dimashnews.com/2020/08/09/a-new-video-qairan-elim-was-released-on-dimashs-channel/ Words at the beginning: The Great Steppe. I am speaking of the land which spreads across the four directions. I am speaking of the Altai mountains and the region of Atyrau, the rivers Zhaiyk and Ile, the Alatau mountain range and the Saryarka Uplands, about the finest vast lands of all time. Maybe not 2000 years ago, but definitely timeless. This song begins so delicately before the intensity increases…. I’m typing before you finish reacting and I’m anticipating your reaction to the later visuals with the fire and Phoenix reference with rebirth being implied through the visuals. I play cello and I am mesmerized by the qobyz throughout. It balances so nicely with Dimash’s vocals! I’ll probably edit after to see how you responded - wait! The blood, the passion - Yes! The intensity of emotion always gets me with this one! The major resolution is beautiful!

Small streams become one at the end of their journey, showing we are stronger together. The mountains, an insurmountable barrier that we need to get past. The fire is Dimash's heart burning for his people, almost symbolising the losses he has felt with friends and mentors passing through covid. His country means so much to him, its his spiritual home as well as his physical one, and as a native Kazakh he is very close with his ancestors. As with all his songs and videos there is a lot of symbolism, he has hidden things there that you find when you understand him. Yes the piano was on fire in reality. The end, the colour comes back over the mountain to show that everything will be fine in the end 💖

Great reaction, Cedric. I love this song and the visuals and wide open shots. I also loved the contrast in almost every single shot between dark and light, the shadows used, the nature shots. Everything is so meaningful and deliberate. I get chills EVERY TIME when he suddenly goes higher and the thunder and lightning sound. Amazing. I would love you to react to Samaltau (here's a link - kzread.info/dash/bejne/h6qBtM2iidiZetY.html), another song Dimash did that is beautiful and uses amazing traditional instruments. It's just him singing in a room, but it feels like so much more. Side note: in BTS's mv "Fire" they legitimately lit a guy on fire. It was just his cloak and it was all done safely with fire extinguishers right there for when the shot was done, but yeah, they did that. When you eventually react to "Fire," I HIGHLY recommend you watch the behind the scenes for the mv shooting. I would actually recommend that for most all of their music videos. 👍

Hi Cedric, greetings from 🇩🇪. I knew you would like Qairan elim. You are right with your interpretation of the video - it was pray for the word (war and love for his country and the earth, drought) with an addition: Dimash lost two of his mentors to Corona and the death of the pianist was the symbol for it. He wanted to show that some burn but survive, but some don't...

To fully understand, you need to know the history of Kazakhstan which was filled with war as they fought for their independence and peace. What I believe he's saying is what's sung at the beginning: difficulties temper (challenges make you stronger like a sword is tempered and made stronger with fire) It may seem as though the world - even music - is on fire, being destroyed with war, the pandemic, everything but it and his beloved Kazakhstan will always survive - as Dimash survives the fire in the end. And that last shot - the hard stone mountain that represents all the hardships - gives way to a land of green and beauty - reborn, made stronger and more beautiful. It is truly a work of art I think.

Everyone sees or feels something watching this masterpiece. I think Dimash’s love for his homeland is part of his inspiration for the video. It is a prayer. At the beginning you see war and sacrifice and blood shed. But you also see the way sacrifices and mistakes along the way are now bringing a rebirth. Visually he got what he wanted. Message? He wants the dears to see what they want to , feel what they feel and come away with their interpretation. Some have been with Dimash for a long time but the thing that stands out is his love for home and family. I’m glad you’re back!

The song title means "My Holy Land" and is speaking of Kazakhstan. Ranat who wrote the song is playing the piano in the video. It is speaking of the horrific wars the Kazak's had to endure, mostly being forced to fight for other countries like Russia, who forced them into battle so that Russian men would not suffer the casualties of those wars, but Kazakhstan did . The Kazaks are a Eurasian people and a lot of that add mixture also came about because Europeans came in to their country to control... Their desire is peace and Russia gave them and 15 other republics their freedom in 1991 I think that is the date. Oh how dimash loves his home land. There are rumors he is moving to the U.S. but I hope that is not true, it is so morally polluted her now. Renat also wrote an instrumental piece "RIVER OF LOVE" that he and Dimash recently released. Renat on keyboard and Dimash on Dombra.

Welcome back. Dimash is not only the greatest talent with the most magnificent voice but his acting skills are excellent & I am predicting he will not only be in movies, he will also be singing the soundtracks. He’s an incredible powerhouse of talents. You must see his MV Be With Me & react to Kieli Meken, Elim Menen, Qaragym-ai, Adai+Daididau from his Bastau concert & his recent live performance of Love is Like a Dream from the Slavic Bazaar in Belarus a few days ago where he performed as well as being a judge on the jury. Thanks from Canada for your great reactions to Dimash’s greatness. 😍❤️🥰🇨🇦🇨🇦

The beginning is an epic poem by a great Kazach poet about the tremendous historic struggles and distress of the Kazak people through successive domination by others especially the czar an soviet period, and culminating in recent civic strife and the COVID pandemic. The song is a prayer for his people appealing to their resilience and strength forged through pain.

Lyrics in English Oh, my Holy Land Even if tears have touched your eyes You do not need to hide your feelings With love for you my homeland I pray for peace on earth! What is the meaning of life without trials? Difficulties temper And the tempered cannot be broken... But only time will heal evеrything... Chorus: Oh, my holy land I pray for only one thing - May your heart beat forеver Let all sorrows and hardships be forgotten Let the sun and moon shine forever May there be joy in every home and children's laughter ring And I wish prosperity to the whole world!

I love this video too, so full of meaning, so delicate, yet so honest about the human condition. We can burn and pass on but by burning we also bring a new beginning (analogous to a forest fire). Perfect for covid times, perfect anytime. I love it more and more every time I see it.

I'm glad that you're finally reacting to a Dimash video. This is his first attempt at directing. He said he didn't really enjoy it but the cinematography is really amazing and symbolic. Especially at the very end, which I'll let you discover on your own. The gentleman playing the piano composed the music. He composed the music because he was upset about the state of the world and Kazakhstan. Dimash heard it and wanted to record it. That's my understanding at least.

👏👍🌷💕Thank you so much! I knew you’d give a great perspective on this! 👏👏👏💖 Dimash produced this after the pandemic hit Kazakhstan. So the message is that the land has gone through so many vicissitudes and survived, so it will overcome this trial yet, though at the cost of devotion and lives. The other Dimash song that tackles self-sacrifice for the sake of the world is The Meaning of Eternity. I can’t listen to it without tearing up…

Good to see you back. I'm a bit late to this party myself. As always great reaction, insight and commentary! Renat Gaissin(composer) and Dimash commented: “The song “Qairan Elim” is a message and a call to all people for good, positive thoughts. The belief that we will definitely overcome everything and cope with all ailments. The main thing is to believe in it and remain strong,” “The video was shot in the picturesque places of Almaty region [of Kazakhstan]. The directors were Dimash himself and the cameraman Azamat Dulatov”. Source: en.dimashnews.com 8/9/20
