Action packed Chase - Metre Gauge vs Broad Gauge Train Race | Indian Railways
Onboard 52908 Ahmedabad - Mehasana Passenger led by SBI YDM4.
12:19 - Departing from Khodiyar Junction, a proceed on the Broad gauge line is seen and soon after ABR WDM2A comes rushing down the line with 19223 Ahmedabad - Jammu Tawi Express. Both the train were doing MPS when the overtake happened.
12:26 - We catch up with the train at Kalol, Jammu train was waiting for a crossing.
12:30 - We depart from kalol as WDM2A patiently waits fro Bikaner - Yesvantpur to enter loop so that it can take on us again.
12:39 - We depart from Isand and see the WDM2A charging towards us again. YDM4 shows its true color now as it accelerates madly to make the race interesting.
12:42 - We are made to slow down again for a stop. As soon as we stop at Pansar, WDM2A overtakes and goes out of site.
When i taught that is end of parallel action for the day...
13:03 - Departing from Dangarwa, one more proceed seen on BG line and i turn back and see VTA WDM3A closing on us with 18421 Puri Ajmer Express. Both the trains slowed down as there is permanent speed restriction of 75 kph and 50 kph for BG and MG respectively

Lovely cat and mouse game between MG and BG. I traveled once on the BG Aravali and was looking forward to a race. Sadly, we overtook an MG train that was crawling - so no race!

I was planning to travel in Puri-ajmer express from badnera to ajmer in 2015..but due to non availability of ticket I had travelled in secunderabad -jaipur express from different routes..and I miss these golden era of parallel run between BG and MG.. Now these parallel runs will never happen in this section 😢

It's one of the rare situation, At very few locations BG lines laid parallel with MG line. In fact in 2years Gauge conversion completed with doubling and electrification between Khodiyar-Kalol. I loved the video, thanks for bringing on KZread for everyone.

Whoaa, dynamic braking of ABR guy. Loved the flag exchanges with 8421
Year 1997, On the Jaipur-Delhi route, Ashram Superfast Express from Ahmedabad to Delhi, them running on metre gauge overtook the train I was travelling in, Jaisalmer-Jammu Tawi Malani Express (then Jaipur-Delhi Intercity) broad gauge twice, once between Alwar and Bandikui at rapid pace and then at Rewari, slowly. It was a humiliation for the Intercity. However at a diamond crossing near Gurgaon, Ashram was halted and Intercity was given the go ahead. Then when we got down at Delhi Cantt railway station, the Ashram sped past, as it did not have a half there. And in all probability would have reached Old Delhi first. So it was the winner. And Intercity was the loser.

yes. journey feel hi nahi hota. But we are very few lot who love such sounds, smokes and smells from engine. and smell of farms. People love ac trains
