I've found this great stuff for removing old stickers. It's literally called "Sticky Stuff Remover", it smells like bananas and it works really well!
That canopy buffing tip from Joseph is incredible. I "met" Joseph through your Patreon channel and he shared his method with me, too. I used it to polish up a Battle Damage X-Wing canopy and Rebel Armored Snowspeeder glass. I used some plastic polish I had from car detailing. They both came out looking amazing! Wonderful restoration and custom figure, Tony. Thanks for the community you've built and for this really fun video.

Michael Shāffer Joseph is aces. Straight awesome guy.
Excellent restoration Tony!!!!! I love watching your videos.
The tips you give Tony are invaluable to anyone restoring any neglected item and I can think of a few people would watch this
It came out looking great in the end! Maybe you could use a Crimson Guard ARAH figure as a substitute driver if it fits. They look a bit like a Red Shadow and should be easy enough to find. Edit or you could always repaint a blue cobra trooper if you are up for more customs!
I’m glad that the hyena has gone to someone who has restored it to its former glory and look forward to more videos involving it thanks tony
Got to love that 80s Palitoy colour scheme! Iconic
Tony, Wow, you got that one looking very sharp. I can see watching all those Toy Polloi videos have paid off.👍 I learn so much from him as well. Great job brother and enjoy your new restoration Bill
Great video as always, and nice kitchen.
Awesome 👍🏾👍🏾 lol when we were kids couldn't wait to go outside and play with these toy's in dirt, even with action man outside in the garden digging hole's to put him in and throwing dirt at him, or dump truck's and bulldozers , now we fix them and put them on display 😀✌
The decals really make all the difference in enhancing and bringing the details out. Great effort.
This is huge fun ! very happy to see you do a restoration video Tony ! Allways love watching these kind of videos ! Retroblasting and Toy Polloi are kinda known for this , glad to see this channel start on these too ! good stuff !
That bought back fond memories of my childhood.
Really great restoration I always enjoy these videos and the deeper the restoration, the more I enjoy it Also some expert looking sticker cutting! I have to try and cut some new Adventure Team stickers for a few of my jackets, I have decided to leave what’s left that is still sticking on for a few tops but a lot of them are just completely gone Inspired!
Great job Tony
Well done Tony! Turned out beautifully. Very enjoyable video and making me want to restore another vehicle ASAP. LOVE the Hyena! Such a cool recolor of the H.I.S.S.
Great stuff. In all honesty, I think the Red color looks better than the black used on the Cobra H.I.S.S. also, a little acetone, or in a pinch, nail polish remover, can help unstick super glued fingers. I'm speaking from experience.
Great video dude! I like to restore my vehicles as well. I also like to clean up and put new decals on vehicles that just need a cleaning and new decals put on. The dremel is a great idea and something i should pick up for myself. I peel off my old decals before washing. I peel them off and put wd40 over the residue to get the sticker residue off...then i wash the wd40 off in soapy warm-hot water. If I'm replacing a few decals....I replace them all. But that's my way. I use the decals from Toyhax.com for my vehicles/playsets. I restored a Skystriker last year. It was missing around 60% of it's parts, and it looked rough from the old decal adhesive. I found all of the parts (except the parachutes) and i cleaned it until it looked nearly new....put new decals on it, found an Ace w/helmet and I even made a co-pilot using Ace's body and a Short Fuse head...even found an extra Ace helmet for him. Now that's one of the highlights of my collection. Again....awesome video as usual.
Appreciate the details in cleaning & restoration. Wish I knew this when I was collecting G. I. Joe figures & vehicles in the '80s. The Hyena seemed based after the G. I. Joe Cobra C.A.T. (Crimson Attack Tank), which, if I remember correctly was a US Sears exclusive in the late 1980s, similar to the boxed combo of the G. I. Joe VAMP Mark I paired with H.A.L. (Heavy Artillery Laser), another exclusive.
Toy Polloi used lighter fluid to soak stickers. This removes the adhesive and then evaporates.
Great restoration, Tony! You've got me wanting start to start collecting Action Force again! Watching videos like these is bittersweet. I had pretty much every Action Force Toy as a kid including the Hyena which was one of my favourites. Of course, I sold the lot in my early teens. Wish I had a time machine!!!! Keep the vids comin'!!!
Interesting and informative as ever Tony. Keep up the great work.
Bravo Tony!
Great restoration! I’m watching this video first thing in the morning @6:30AM our here in California. Thanks for posting. Go Joe!
Great work on a restoration, Tony! Thank you for this video.
Great restoration Tony, really enjoyed it
Now that the Hyena is restored...It will make another bite!
Terrific video Tony. Really took me back to enjoying my old HISS tank.
Looks great! Nice work on the restoration. I love the look of this compared to the Hiss. Thanks for sharing.
I think you did a pretty darn good job
Great stuff Tony... Would appreciate if you did more restoration vids! Keep up the great work 👌
This was a great video to watch, man. I love seeing toys come back to life like this. I've spent the last year or so slowly, and I do mean slowly, getting pieces for a vintage GI Joe Snowcat and the rebirth has been a blast. This is just a tip so please don't think I'm being a dick but one thing I noticed when you were painting was how you would dip the brush in then go straight to painting. When you dip the brush into paint it will leave a glob or mass of paint on the end of your brush even if you can't see it. If you lightly touch the brush to a paper towel before painting it pulls away that excess and makes it much easier to control your paint. Just a tip for those tiny paint apps like the emblem (I paint miniatures and have to do this.) Again man, great video with excellent tips for restoration.
Great vlog buddy. I love restoration videos. It's the satisfaction of restoring a forgotten memory of your childhood whilst in the process of restoring the toy. Can't wait to see your next vlog.
Excellent. Super well done.
I love this toy. Always been a fan of the HISS so this variant is quite amazing 👏 🎉❤
If you own something, you can do what you like with it. It may have sentimental value, but you still have accept that it's a toy, a mass produced piece of plastic. It's painting a Destro red, it's not drawing a moustache on the Mona Lisa.
Cool video it looks so good and great to watch . Was thinking shame you could use skull and cross bones from sticker sheet and colour red or photo shop red instead of black awsome video
Very nice man! 😲 I’ll definitely dm you for that pdf...it looks amazing 👍🏽
On Red Jackal’s Skull and crossbones, it strikes me that some of the left over stickers might be carefully cut out and applied to his chest. might require a bit of photo shop to get the proportions just right or perhaps not. ...just a thought.

I thought the same thing!
I was thinking for the Red Jackal chest logo you could probably print a tiny sticker or on of those clear decals that slide off with water. I forget what they are called but same idea as fake tattoos.

Very Nice Restore. I hope if you get another id love to see you do a Extreme Restoration. It would consist of making actual Rolling Threads, Headlights and Running Lights as well as detailed lit Cockpit. Would that be a challenge or doable restoration project for you and your channel? My skills at trying such is totally lacking

That's more like customizing than restoring
Great Vid Tony!!! Bravo sir
The thing I do not like about the early Action Force toys are the stickers. The are still very cool toys.
Haha, I made my Red Jackal the same way. Probably one of the easiest 3 3/4th customs to make and saves a lot of money when you have extra Destro's laying around. Don't have his ride yet though.

Augustus Wyneberg so have I
Hey.. I'm in Indiana in the states.. I believe somewhere in my box of various parts and pieces in my closet I have a Destro that's broke in half if I located I might be able to paint it up to look like the Jackal for you and send you the Torso piece in the mail. I'll let you know if I locate it.

I love action force I only have a few pieces in my gi joe collection because it’s relatively hard to find in the states and gets expensive getting one item here or there shipped from the UK I would love to buy a big lot and get my collection bolstered up
Could you have used a sticker skull and crossbones on clear sticker sheet then use a setting solution solvent for it to conform to the chest?
@uphilliceskater

Print out a pic of it, cut it with an X-Acto knife, and use it as a stencil.
Aye up Tony 😎
I had some Action Force (didn't have the Hyena unfortunately), I used to use 'Jammer' (Stalker) as the the leader. I noticed your tattoo of 'The Saint'. Not sure if there were any toys made of The Saint, but I'd love to know the story behind the tattoo or a video about The Saint.

Do you know how to get varnished paint off without damaging original paint underneath pal I'm stuck on a restoration job
Does this go well with the Crimson Guard?
So did you ever find a way to get the ☠ on to Destro?? I'm facing the same problem....

With regards to your scratched canopy, buffing it seems a bit extreme. Check out a few model kit builders who use floor polish. Johnson's Pledge or Future - it maybe called something else in Australia, it's a go-to thing for clear parts

That’s the problem with action force the recoloured gi joes are rare and some were out for a year they cost a fortune gi joe has been out for years and so what’s the big deal in trying to make a good copy I mean how many destros can you display everybody should enjoy their hobby and let others do the same
