Why acrylic ink .. why not watercolour? I dont ubderstand difference between different inks and watercolour

Hello, thank you for your comment. This is a good questions and these two do have similarities. However, there are differences and in my opinion one is not better than the other.. just different since they have different properties. Watercolour is more soluble on the page than acrylic whereas once acrylic is down it is harder to 'lift off'. So using the first painting in this tutorial as an example if I had watercolour I think that the paint would have dissipated into the water more and the overall effect would have been different. In these paintings I did not run the brush back over the work at any point but if I had then the acrylic would have been harder to 'lift off' whereas with enough water I could have diluted and 'lifted off' the watercolour even after it was down on the paper. I hope this explains. It is also important to know that you can buy watercolour in different forms, so palette, tube or in liquid form. And acrylics in tubes or in liquid form (acrylic ink). Whichever form the same applied, watercolour is always more soluble on the page than acrylic.
