This was aired around 2001 as I recall. Found it on a video tape I was archiving to digital.

    my mums family was all born in the Rhondda.. Treorchy and lived there all their lives. I loved visiting. we lived just outside London. Now in Australia. I try to get back to visit when ever I can. The ppl are so friendly. Love South Wales. I hope it never changes xx

    Interesting couple of videos, especially as I spent the first nine years of my life in Gelli. I have to say, however, that it was not quite as green then (the 1950s). Incidentally, the sad truth is that Franco did take Madrid. After laying siege to the city for two-and-a-half years, Franco's troops took Madrid in March 1939. Thank you to all the Welsh who helped support the rightfully elected Republican government of Spain against the upstart Nationalist Franco and his henchmen. The few really had to sacrifice themselves when the powers that be refused to support democracy.
