Yep, this is unreal. BF 2042 that looks like trash and plays like trash is running on 25-30 FPS constantly for me, while this masterpiece is running with 60 fps without any problems, even when there is 20+ people on one point with explosions, shooting, lightsaber action etc. It's crazy how good you can optimize the game.

@@andrewbennett1776 they made BF2 purposely obsolete. From a financial aspect it wouldn't make sense to add more stuff to BF2 and then release BF3. Right now they want people to forget BF2 , so that there's a new hype and reason to release BF3.

All the Naboo ships looked amazing and I think it's because they were built for royalty and the royal guard. Padme's ships were my favourites

From what I read too n1 starfighters are super top of the line, but super expensive to make, which is the only reason they weren't mass produced. Cockpit view is perfect

The X-Wings look like ships that were only designed for space combat because I guarantee you that shit will not fly properly in an atmosphere with wind resistance. There is a reason real fighter jets are sleek and aerodynamic. Unless they have some kind of weird gravity field that alters wind resistance. Its ironic that the real world fighter jets in Top Gun Maverick look so much faster and more nimble than the 'futurustic' star wars fighters. I guess it just goes to show that Star Wars has always been more of Space Fantasy than actual science fiction. Don't get me wrong, there is no issue with that. But after watching Top Gun Maverick I realised that the dog fights in Star Wars could be so much better.

Squadrons should have followed this design and gameplay, this is the closest thing to the cinematic dogfights

One of the things they did worse is the sense of depth and distance while flying. In this game you know exactly where stuff is, while sometimes in squadrons it can be hard to do. Lego SW TSS is awful on that front lol

1400 hours from playing this gem and I never even saw this before... wow

To think that from now on, Mando's new ship is a beefed up version of this.

Only games that focus on Naboo are old as dust (in game years). Hopefully the mandalorian will bring back more attention to Naboo though.

I like my ship the way it is...

Been with the game ever since the beta and NEVER ONCE I stopped and enjoyed flying like this in Naboo. It looks so beautiful.

Flying on Kashyyk through the tree branches and getting ppl to crash themselves is so satisfying. I really wish EA didn’t take criticism so personally because they creat beautiful products, they’re just way too greedy for their own good.

I miss playing this game and the time of my life I plaid it in💔 it’s crazy how video games can share a part of your life story and can hold weighted emotions just as real people can

To the one (possibly more) comment that said they wish they could fly this in space/Starfighter modes: You actually can. To do so, you have to play Hero Starfighter, and be on the light side. After you lose your hero ship, you can select the Naboo N-1 Starfighter! Not ideal, but better than nothing.

Why did they give up on this game? There was so much wasted potential. In fact, people agree with me so much that the community has banded together to create the thing we truly needed and could’ve had. (I’m talking about the Battlefront 2 X 2022 mod for battlefront 2 on pc)

They 'gave up' because of Battlefield 2042. In fact they stopped the support for both SWBII and BFV so that they could work on BF 2042.

I could never really get into it because of how imbalanced and clunky the gameplay was, especially vehicles and the heroes.. And also the level design with all the narrow passages with so much action that it severely limited your impact as a player and things felt way too random and luck based. Have they improved on those aspects with updates?

I never got into starfighter assault as I mostly stuck to HvV/HS, but I can appreciate just how cinematic this game could be.

I absolutely loved the Naboo Starfighter

These graphics still hold up 5 years later. Hell, I even think it looks better than some PS5 games. When watching this footage, I sometimes forget it's a video game and not real life.

So much wasted potential. I loved how the old Dice team tried to save this game with passion and limited resources. It could have become a big Star Wars sandbox after the end of the live service but no… EA manages to destroy everything it touches.

I’ve been playing the old BF2 with some friends and the one thing I wanted in the new was was the old style space battles. It’d have stopped supremacy matches from going on for 4+ hours if there was half a team dogfighting in space and the other half trying to sabotage each other’s ships from the inside.

I played the 2005 one before the new and I loved that mechanic going in and out the capital ships. I was DAMN DISAPPOINTED the new one wasn't like that, I loved it. I mean, they did it in 2005, they were going to do it in BF3 around 2007 and they didn't do it in 2017...it's dumb AF.

funny enough, around the same time, battlefield 2142 had a "titan" mode which basically saw ground forces and air forces trying to down eachothers titan ships

The graphics in this game really are incredible

Now *this* is pod racing

This is my favorite ship, and I never get to fly it because it's only on this one map.

This is why battlefront 2 is awesome you don’t get to do this and have it look great in other games

The SFX on this game are crazy. Fire, smoke, explosions and the look and sound of blaster fire and lightsabers. Just watch this video on 0.25X speed and see how the bolts are being shot. It looks exactly like the special effects of the newer movies, which is very impressive.

It's not like it's without good cause. Ea was named worst company in America twice in a row before this game ever released... they had basic things like Darth vaders breathing that had to be petitioned into the fucking game.... it's more just the acceptance of the objective truth that rly makes ppl take the negative stance they do bcs it is objectively a bad game all around.. it's like comparing a turd and a polished turd and saying the polished turd gets a pass bcs its polished so it's not THAT bad but In reality it's just delusion they're both turds when it comes down too it.

​@@brainhungry98 Actually i do, too. Episode 1 was more like a "finding-process". Where are the characters situated in the universe? What are their motives etc. Although highly debatable thanks to Qui-Gon Jinn we got a glimpse on the Gray Jedi. But apart from that they did a really good job in establishing new things while also building on already existing stuff. I guess my only real grief is the pacing of Episode 1, some cheesy lines and the introduction of Midi-chlorians. Apart from that? Great stuff.

@@Pendragon667 well spoken. also, The whole sidious plan was immense, spanning three perfectly connected films (first timers might need a rewatch tho) and giving more depth and meaning to the OG too. Maybe that's what I regret the most from the sequels, continuity and meaning to the saga instead of only to the films themselves

Long ago, in a big box store far away.. there was a 4' long Naboo Fighetr hanging from the ceiling..a promo ofc for SW ep1. ..it was yellow, chrome, huge, sleek and stole my heart! ..I shudda made mngmnt an offer they could not refuse for it. One of the things that i hate about battlefront right now is that, at least on Brazilian servers, flying on different maps is extremely laggy and rubber bands quite a lot. I've experiencied this issue on hoth multiple time. If someone has a way of fixing this it would be much apreciated.

Why the heck didn't they add the control ship assault to starfighter mode? I would have loved to fly the n1 more in this game! :(

They need to increase fov inside ships or have sliders, views so small it’s hard to get kills vs third person players. What makes the squadrons game pretty shit as well is the fov is way too close you can only see so much having to spin in circles constantly over aiming targets An example is like playing an fps but the camera is zoomed in like you’re ads just on high sensitivity when people get to run around hip firing better benefit Sadly too late for it

What makes squadrons better though is that everyone is in first person, removing the third person advantage, and the instruments in the cockpit actually work. You can also look around, although the controls for doing so without vr are admittedly clunky.

@@belisauriusfish9406 yeah that’s the good thing about fairness but still mediocre I see too many people crash cuz they turn too hard and can’t see their surroundings 🤣 Just something all games have a problem with cuz irl you physically are able to see way more of your surroundings like fov is super high you can see things off the edge of your eye but that’s something that’s horribly crossed over inside first person vehicles and hard to implement into controls because your visuals are used for aiming and maneuvering the ships. For cars it’s easy but ships and planes it’s hard. Literally vr fixes the issue you can control everything while looking around with better view.
