Good Buddhist monks and buddhism in Malaysia.plz monks should avoid egg,meat,alcohol,married and luxury life. Buddha said if you don't have any food to eat then you can eat meat.pureveg and simple living monks could inspire us to be pureveg and live simple life without any violence. This comment is from the land of buddha lumbini nepal.

Growing up with two Buddhist parents I've had a desire to understand the meaning behind the chanting. Thank you for uploading I'm taking notes and going to explore more.

I love this. My mom just passed from cancer and the chants are verbatim to my moms funeral today. I really feel enlightened from being a monk for my mom. I love u mom! And get checked because cancer is a silent killer. Sathuk sathuk sathuk. I'm Cambodian btw.

Manggala Sutta... Ajahn Sumedho, a protegė of Ajahn Chah. Read his many books. Very impressive! They really have memorized it by heart. Some disciplined believers, when they chant sutta, they could see the words in their mind-eyes. Impressive feat.

Thank you so much for this English translation. This is such a BIG help for me. I just retired/moved to Thailand and go to temple but it is difficult to follow and understand. Thank you. 💯🙏

When the Buddha was alive he mentioned that there were several of his sermons that were so powerful that the mere reciting of them could bring protection to our lives. To this end, monks will often engage a spool of thread while they are chanting these discourses. Afterwards they will offer pieces of this thread to those who like. The threads can serve as a reminder of the protective power of the Buddha’s teachings as well as a carrier of this protection.
