There is no reason to speak at a faster pace, unless you have a time constraint, or have a need to interject, or want to show off how fast you can speak. When you speak slower, not super slow, you will sound more confident, wiser and more intelligent! Sometimes the speed is actually covering up a weakness....

I'd like to say a big THANK YOU to you, Hugo, for making this excellent podcast! I must say, as listening materials for beginners and intermediate learners, these episodes are just impeccable. The length of each episode is appropriate - not too short in a way that contains too little information. The words are uttered in a moderate speed and a clear fashion. And the intermittent jingles - they are just perfect indicators of the change of ideas/topics and jazz up the listening experience. Keep up the good work! My learning of French counts on you! :D

I am thrilled to have found this site. when i listened to lesson 1, i understood many of the words but could not easily string it together to understand the entire context easily, the second time, i listened as i read it and was overwhelmed with how i could understand about 85% of the context. I have always been frustrated going from beginner french to all other intermediate french podcasts as the jump was too big. This podcast is the perfect next step for me. I am very good at memorizing words and grammar rules so that i read and speak far better than I can comprehend. Now finally i have something that allows my brain to listen and understand so that my listening comprehension can improve. I am simply thrilled.

Merci beaucoup!

Obrigado (Merci!).

Roseangelie Figueroa I’m sorry for my late reply I didn’t get a notification when you replied! Find a series called french in action and watch that. There are 52 episodes and that’s what I used to get a good start. Even if you don’t understand it at first, keep watching and try to listen for words you know. When I started watching, it took me about 10 to 15 episodes to really feel like I was understanding, but once you finish it just watch it again and again until you feel like you can move on. These podcasts are good for people who have some kind start in french already. Good luck!! Don’t give up!
