Acoustic amplifier phone stand with Iron-wood Reflectors
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This is a smartphone speaker made with a focus on sound quality.
Holes are drilled in the solid walnut wood to create a sound path and amplify the sound emitted from the phone.
If you like it, please subscribe to my channel.
====== Details ======
The sound path gradually increases in diameter from 15mm to 20mm to 25mm, amplifying the sound efficiently.
At the bends of the sound path, reflectors made of Ipe wood, also known as "ironwood", which is very hard, are installed.
High frequencies are directed to the right side of the sound path by the second reflector.
The right side sound path is shorter and amplifies the highs.
The mid-bass sound goes through the gap around the second reflector to the left side sound path.
The left side sound path is longer and amplifies the mid-bass.
The last reflector has a large diameter and directs the sound to the front.
The final reflector is visible from the side and is a key point in the design.

13:46 Perhaps my camera's auto-gain control has been activated during recording. The change in sound when the phone is removed is consistent with actual hearing. - - - - - - - - - - - There are other videos of the lathe in this video. kzread.info/dash/bejne/pWp5p5OBfKa_esY.html And here is the new lathe. kzread.info/dash/bejne/opdlp9qBk5uWk8o.html

super cool i love it, i designed resonation systems in my younger days for musical instrument makers, you should check out helmholtz resonance theory for amplification I think it could help you with your next design iterations and it would also help to add some well place sticky back felt in the cavity to absorb some of the higher frequencies.

Patenta el invento antes que te lo copien. Y vendelo, vas a ganar mas que en youtube. Yo sin duda te compraria uno. Realmente amplifica los sonidos. Es un poco tenue con los graves pero para eso ya estan los dispositivos electrónicos.

If you vary the 2dn reflector depht, can you "equalize" the sound? I mean, get more or less bass or high?
@7chome_seisakusyo
11 ай бұрын
I think it's possible, but I'm not sure. It is interesting to try to make it an adjustable type.
By the time you finish this project, they’ve already come out with a new phone that won’t fit in your stand anymore
@7chome_seisakusyo
11 ай бұрын
If the phone is that big, it's loud enough to be okay.
the sound is more linear without your acoustic amplificater, you add resonance in mid, kill the high and don't get more bass but it's louder yes

@7chome_seisakusyo

Thanks for your comment! The harder the reflector, the better, so maple would be a good choice. For reference, I felt that lighter and softer wood for the main body would give better sound quality. ( This was surprising to me! )
