I hope they extend it up to 100 slots with future updates. Same for pocket storage, if they could cough out another 'Essential' pack in the nook miles terminal for another 10 slots would be fantastic. Also, for materials stored at home to be accessible via de DIY workbench.

{ Bela } True but different players have their own separate slots in acnl so you can make a dummy player to get more slots. Acnh doesn’t do that.

@ It's technically impossible to rotate the camera due to the fact that the game is a rolling world.

I wish there was a feature to rotate custom designs, but they could at least make it for the nook mile version on the terraforming app.

Lenny Faced Lily It's quite disappointing that we were able to do it in Happy Home Designer, which is basically a spin-off game, but not in ACNH. Same for the custom path slots, ACHHD had NEARLY 180! What the hell Nintendo?

It kinda depends on the theme you’re going for, I don’t really have a theme though, and my islands just a Mish mash of a bunch of stuff. My advice, look on KZread for an idea you like and incorporate it into your own island in a slightly different way so you’re not exactly copying it.

My advice is just grab things from your storage that you could use and work around them. Say, like, you have a basketball hoop sitting there... OK, make a basketball court.

I’ve been overwhelmed too. But what’s helped me, Is focusing on section by section, rather than the entire the entire finished image of the island. I’ve been noticing, me focusing on piece by piece is naturally letting me find my own esthetic. So, try working on a building, and the surrounding landscape and so on. Then you’ll have left over space to make your pathways, and such.

Fun fact, you can actually erase your flag design and the flag will still keep the design you posted!

You know what would be nice? If nintendo removed the feature when u accidentally press y and erase your paths that are displayed. It should only be erasable only when u have island designer app active. It's a path for ffs

Well if you find the QR code and use the Nook Link, you can still download designs after hours. I know that won't work for everything, but there's a lot of cute clothing QR codes.

Actually custom designs on their own make noise (just not as loud as the island designer paths), and custom paths laid on top of the island designer paths make the sane noise as the island designer paths.

@@pericelsus Custom paths layered on top of stock paths DO NOT make the normal noise! People need to stop spreading this lie. Custom paths all make the same muted, dull, almost non-existent sound.

I have 5 people on my island (3 kids under 10) and have to share my slots with kids who want to do funny doodles. You don’t know mad till you realize that you’re only going to have a few spots left to do your own thing. If we could each have our own island, that would be even better. Each person does their own thing and it’s like a train wreck.

Another thing I recommend/ find useful is using overlays for the paths. While it may not bring as much detail as say, borders. It really helps cut down space and makes you’re paths a bit more unique.

i just dont get the logic of 50 slots only, just who at nintendo thought 'yep thats more than enough' ~_~

It's awful. I share my island with my daughter and she loves to draw pictures with the design tool. So now half of my slots are filled with doodles of stars and hearts in garish colours. And she would be sad if I replaced them with something useful.

MissEmiNeko I’m on an island with 5 people and my youngest son practically plays the game just to doodle on custom designs (I delete them every now and then so I can use them again). But I really wish each person got their own. That also goes for pro designs too. I thought those would at least be different from player to player, but we also all share those too.

I got the brick edges from Daybreak since I used the brick path. Really makes the path look so much better.

Worth noting! Once you put a custom design on furniture, that furniture is permanent etc like on a lamp or pillow. So you don't have to keep those designs after you make all the customized furniture you want.

To give my paths more life, I sacrifice the borders (the curved stone doesn’t seem very popular and it’s my main path) but I made little “sidewalk chalk” drawings which are pastel drawings of simple characters, and I’ll put them near the “neighborhood” on my island.

Hi Cordless VII, I really liked your creations on Fallout 4 and now I'm a big fan of what you're doing on ACNH. I watch a LOT of Island Tours and I'm very often disappointed by what I see : many island are just randomly crowded with stuff and it feels disorganized. Yours is a very good inspiration!! You can delete your island flag slot. It won't disappear. And you can rearrange the slots. Use the 'swap' option. It won't mess anything up.

You could place middle dirt part on a dirt path and safe the rest. And if it doesn't have a empty pixel to match the path: go to the these design Internet sites, upload a picture of that path and redesign it

I would use the custom paths if able to place them without wiping them off. I mean what the point of that custom path setting in construction mode if you’re able to wipe them off?

You can replace your flag design & it will still stay. Applies to the customizable phone case as well. :)

It would be so cool if in the next update you could use Nook Miles to purchase more slots!

This helps me cause I deleted some beloved designs to download an full road and sidewalk set that took up 15 slots, don't know if I'm gonna need em all

The fact that you have to pay for Nintendo Online before you can download custom designs, means you should get to have a lot more slots. I've saved a few slots by making sure to use paths that have are transparent. It takes longer to lay down a path and put the custom one on top, but it works for me. Plus, If I end up wanting to change it, I can just overwrite the custom path swuare and all of the ones I placed will change.

Hey Cordless! I've been watching a lot of your ACNH videos, and your town looks great! But ever since I got some other games, I stopped playing, and can't seem to get back into the game! I wanna make a cool town like yours, but whenever I start playing, I'll get confused, and eventually get bored and exit the game. How do I get back into Animal Crossing without getting bored instantly? I don't know what to do!

dont stress about it, animal crossing isnt suppose to be a competitive game or anything. You can take however long you want finishing your island. If you finish your entire island in like one month then you’ll just be bored.

I had the same issue! I was addicted to AC but then | got bored and just stopped playing. After watching his previous video on re-designing your island, I was truly inspired. I watched a few other relaxing, speed build videos and was excited to work on mine. I guess it's best to plan in advance or at least have an idea of what you want to build before you start, so you don't feel overwhelmed or bored. Hope this helps. xx

Plan your island first. There is a website called Happy Island Designer. Do a rough plan of where you want everything to be and where you want your cliffs, inclines etc and then take a picture of it and try and build it. I’d start at the entrance and then make your way around. Once you’ve got the structure of everything and got all the buildings you want in place you can then focus on what paving you want and start decorating it with furniture, diys, flowers and trees.

I would make a basic design plan and then slowly start to add things that you've seen in other people islands (terraforming cliffs, small details for cafes/farms/paths) it'll be more fun and relaxing that way
