ACLS Mega Code Review - Unstable Bradycardia and Transcutaneous Pacing

Bradycardia vs Symptomatic Bradycardia
Bradycardia is defined as a heart rate of less than 60 beats per minute. While any heart rate less than 60 beats per minute is considered bradycardia, not every individual with bradycardia is symptomatic or has a pathological event. Individuals in excellent physical shape often have sinus bradycardia.
Symptomatic Bradycardia is when a slower than typical heartbeat (bradycardia) can prevent the brain and other organs from getting enough oxygen, possibly causing these signs and symptoms: Chest pain. Confusion or memory problems. Dizziness or lightheadedness.
Symptomatic bradycardia should be treated with the ACLS Survey. If bradycardia persists but is asymptomatic, obtain a consultation from a cardiologist experienced in treating rhythm disorders.

What software module was used for that training? Is it available for purchase? The second thing I wanted to point out is an anomaly in the demonstration. The HR is at 40-42, yet the pulse oximetry shows a much higher rate. Also, the arterial trace is confusing because you are actually demonstrating NIBP.

Thanks for your feedback. The goal was to only show the rhythm. The other parameters weren't preprogrammed. It's the Dart Sim system. It's great.

Why it’s less than 50 for ACLS and it’s less than 60 generally. Just want to know what’s the reason Thanks

Hi there. Some people naturally have lower heart rates. The difference in the numbers (50 bpm vs 60 bpm) prevents over treating those with naturally low heart rates (ex: athletes). While we might refer to a heart rate of 59 as being bradycardic, we would not begin treatment unless the person had symptoms - or the heart rate was less than 50. We would monitor him/her instead and seek expert consultation (ex: cardiologist) instead of immediately giving Atropine. Hope this helps. ❤️
