Hi Caroline. Just wanted to thank you for all your hard work. I must have watched the two videos about toners and read the related blog posts 10 times ! But I did it, I finally made up my mind and purchased three toners to try out : Pixi, Clarins and Clinique. I really enjoy learning so much about skin care and laughing a great deal along the way ! Thanks again and keep up the good work !

Great useful video, I'm hooked on Pixi glow now tonic. I used it for 2 months and my skin stayed lovely and clear (35 yr old), then I ran out but didn't repurchase right away and that month I had loads of hormonal spots, now I'm back on it and my skins improving again! Won't stop using it now, thanks for all your tips and advice xx

LOVE the P50 1970 formula ! I notice a huge difference when I've used it and I must be wierd.....I kind of like the vineagar smell ! First Aid Beauty are my morning toner stage on most days. I think changing my routine ( thanks to you) and incooperating the acid toner stage and serum stage made such a difference and I was using really good skincare but I wasn't using it in the right way. I always get compliment on my great loking skin and I have you Mrs Hirons to thank for steering me in the right direction. XOXOX

Oh, I need to confess. After watching this I wanted the Dr Dennis Gross pads and popped into my local Space NK. I thought I'd missed their event evening, but no. So now i find myself the proud owner of a ticket to the event and a likely bill of £150 to get their fabulous goody bag. I'm sure it will be wonderful, but I need to cut back! I say thanks for the advice but my bank manager will not!

Being no expert in skin care but luckily have pretty good skin for age so far I last tried the L’Oréal glycolic pads, the serum which comes with two pumps white/red inside clear dispensing pump and the spf. Also u wear the L’Oréal nighttime cream. I have dry/combination skin and with this stuff I’ve seen my face clear and brighten within 3 days! Will be purchasing again sometimes they have it on sale at Rite Aid 40% off I’ll be hunting for the next sale! No peeling, no breakouts, no redness. Good stuff and doesn’t brake the bank. 🤑

ahh yes I have been anxiously awaiting this video!! Since your cleansing video I have purchased the Nude Cleanser and the Lush Ultrabland and LOVE them!!! I also always have a fresh stack of flannels handy since I started reading your blog about 2 years ago. They really make all the difference! I haven't used a foaming cleanser since I found you either! Four months ago I went off the pill due to it causing me serious hormone imbalances, and was panicking about having bad acne as a side effect (I went off the pill before and had awful acne). I followed your regime religiously and filled my medicine cabinet with more acids, cleansing balms, serums, oils, and yummy moisturizers and have had NO acne aside from the occasional spot. THANK YOU!!! I know your expertise is the reason my skin has stayed so nice. Much love from Louisiana!! xox

And my extensive skincare hoarding.. *Says all your readers* If you answer questions on here, I was wondering what you would recommend for post- acne dark spots on the body? Hi Caroline. Thanks so much for this series!! I love the concept of acids and have switched up my skincare in the last 6 months to products containing acids - AHA, BHA, PHA, glycolic, salicylic (not all in one product). But I've had problems with my skin peeling, particularly on my nose, which shows up much more when I wear foundation. I have put it down to the acids unfortunately, so I have stopped all expect Alpha-H's liquid gold every second night and Mario Badescu glycolic acid toner I'm pretty keen on Alpha-H products but surprised you haven't included them - do you not rate them as highly as the rest of your list? I know Ruth Crilly raves about them. I can't afford to see a dermatologist and as far as I'm aware I have combination/dry skin that I never thought to be sensitive but maybe it is? Any advice I'd appreciate. :) Thanks, Amy Oh and ignore shopshopbop - you've got sublime hair!

Thanks for the reviews,Caroline :) I have tried liquid gold, cane&austin and also p50w after reading your blogs for a long time. What impressed me most is p50w, it has made my skin clearer, brighter, and less breakout. Liquid gold is good for keeping acne at bay, but sometimes I found my skin looking a bit dull after using it. Cane&austin is just so so. I am quite interested in the dennis gross ones, how u rate them vs the ones I have tried? Thank you.

Hi Caroline. Firstly, I am very grateful that I have found you a few months ago as you've completely changed my perspective over skincare and you've helped me a lot. I still have one massive problem though. I have very oily skin..and the odd dry patches around breakouts (acne prone skin). Whatever I try, whatever I do, after 4 hours or so, every foundation starts to get weird around my mouth and nose area. Little "drops"of oil are showing through the foundation. Like I have little white dots all over. I think it's called "balling up". It goes away after I pat them with a tissue, brush, etc. What could I do? Thank you! (no silicone primer, but the foundations usually contain silicone, also the moisturiser is LRP hydraphase intense legere, if it helps)

As you mentioned that you use the Dennis Gross pads on airplanes, I thought it would be amazing if you could prepare a video, outlining your in-flight skincare routine. I travel a lot and would find your suggestions most helpful. Thank you!

Your videos are like a bible to me! I try to be like a sponge and always take in as much as I can, extremely informative, handy and funny! I have got the Bravura Toner, it's amazing - since you said you like to use different toner for the morning and for the night and since now on I will do the same (no surprise here). I have got three toners currently, two of them are acid ones, Pixiglow and Bravura. Could you tell me whether one of them would be better for night time or morning time or would that make no difference at all? Thank you ! xoxo

Malgosia Jaworska I think Bravura is stronger but it depends which one. Stronger = evening.

I got the p50 v 1970 and it says to use it with a wet cotton pad for the first week. Do you think I should follow the instructions or just go right in with a dry cotton pad?

loved the video, since were on the topic of toners, i wanted to get your opinion on the Paula's choice resist advanced replenishing toner, i know its not an acid and its quite a milky toner, do you think its too much as i will be using 2% bha liquid exfoliant by pauals choice, peptabright, moisturizer and a sunblock. if not then perhaps the ren clarifying toner??

Hi Caroline-thank you for this! Quick question: what is the benefit of the phenol in the P50 1970? I live in the states and have bought the 1970 for years, but it is getting more difficult to locate. Does it make the "toner" more effective. Thanks again! -Annie

I absolutely love your videos! I'm so glad I found you on amodelrecommends ^.^ I would say I have pretty good skin but the one thing I really struggle with is blackheads although better now I invested in a clarisonic but they would get so bad depending if I was having my TOM they would turn into spots and be so painful, what should I use to tackle them. Any help please? Xx

Caroline, is it safe to use an acid toner at night before using a retina gel? I use the 0.01% so it isn't strong.. Thank you! Love your videos!

I've been using nip&fab acid toning pads for a few months and have noticed a huge difference in my skin! They're £12 for 60 pads and contain glycolic and hylauronic acid. Have you ever tried them? Could you and let us know your thoughts? X
