If you master wallhopping, you can still do some of these with candy cane coil.

0:50 you can just do the /e dance clip right at the blocked sewer without pressing the button and it is great for pacifist speedrunners like me
3:24 if you go left you can make even bigger shortcut on gold coil

You can do desert ruins on difficulty 7. There's flood escape 2, you can check it out and do something similar
