    What would you if you have HCO3 and pCO2 and you're asked to find the H+ concentration? What I did was use the Hasselbach equation to figure out the pH that way, and then I did 10^(-pH) to get the [H+]. I'm getting slightly confused though, if you have the H+ concentration then how would you make a diagnosis/deficit?

    Hi, can you explain how the acid/base changes for aspirin overdose? I know in the early states its respiratory alkalosis and then late will be metabolic acidosis with anion gap, but how would you differentiate which one it will be in a question?

    What about when the pH is normal? But there are variable numbers in the bicarbonate and pCO2?

    I also think of ROME changes (Respiratory opposite, metabolic equal) and just use your pH to know if it is acidosis/alkalosis

    A good trick: Is there an anion gap? It is good to look at this BEFORE ANY OTHER NUMBER to save time. Because, if there IS INDEED an anion gap, then you 100% have an anion gap metabolic acidosis
