Bhandari A/C people have chosen the right person to be their representative. I have not met him personally but his speech in the last Assembly was marvelous. He have been students leader for several years and his works at that time reflects his concerns for the Nagas. By the way, someone tell me whether he is married or not. Democracy is a system of government where decision making power rests with the people at large. The problem is that we don't live in a democracy. Having a single vote every 5 years isn't enough to qualify, when 1) The structure you're voting in is so corrupt that it's outputs don't reflext anything but the preferences of capital 2) Every other facet of your life is completely authoritarian, including the place you probably spend the majority of your waking hours . 3) We live in an economic system that has billionaires in it. In fact ancient Greek democracies wouldn't have elections at all (considering them to be a feature of aristocracy/oligarchy.) They would decide policy through collective ascent,And any political positions that they deemed necessary were appointed using sortition. Think about your current political "representative" and tell me if "just some random person" wouldn't do a better job, especially considering the fact that they didn't get to go on being an elite after their term ended but instead went back to being a farmer or artist or whatever. Those people who understand will understand , the rest are robots.
