My great great grandmother ( my maternal grandmother's grandmother) came from County Mayo. I'm American born in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. I love this! I always wanted to see where my ancestors hailed from.

@@paddymurphy1238 Hi Paddy am really thinking hard about buying a cottage and a couple of acres to grow food, near Knock or Achill do you think it's a good idea, are the people friendly, just wondering have two teenagers as well, we're from Dublin so wold be a big change for them. Be delighted with your imput, Thanks, also would like to go there because I think they have a strong faith in God.

I feel like I am in Heaven today , finding your great video of Achill Island. I shall never weary now as shall always put your video on. LOVE all the singers , especially Mick Flavin. Achill is a great place beautiful scenery had a grand uncle who was da Guard on da Island In da 60’s Charlie Walsh was his name.I travel back and fourth to Mayo 2-3 times a year from Manchester
