if you smash the phantom corsair you will only have to smash about 3 or 4 of them. they are worth 25000 a pop. I didn't know this at first and i smashed like 10 or 12 and had 400,000 worth in damage lol

Just for the reference - Dusenbeg costs $25000 and the fire truck costs $12459. Also Buick ambulance is quite expensive - $3195, Cadillac V16 Convertible - $5350 and Lincoln Model K Convertible Roadster - $4700

i own this game and it only keeps me busy for one case a day.. damn adhd.. but its a awesome game.. epic story line.

I almost feel sorry for Phelps when his partner complaints and Phelps answers him.

The Phantom Corsair is the really expensive hidden car. It's one of the first ones you can find, and is supposed to be $24,000. The Buick Super police car is kind of expensive, too.

i watch these la noire videos even though i don't even own the game. i am a real fan.

I have an idea and I was wondering if this would work. Can you just drive the cars into water? Meaning would that count? I drove a car into the pond at McArthur park and it immediately went dead. So if that counts, you could just hang around McArthur Park or any other body of water, commander vehicles nearby and just drive them into the water. Could probably get it done in less than 10 minutes if that counts. but I'm not sure, maybe the cars need to be actually destroyed the way you guys are doing it in the video.

@Tenucha Play the game without thinking about achievements, then after that you can replay a case and do it there.

@halflife103 In this game you CANNOT randomly kill civillians with guns or cars like in GTA4, because you are a detective. The main elements are still there, the combat feels similar, the city is large, and there are plenty of vehicles to get your hands on. The game does not feature side missions though, like in GTA. Instead it features more linear detective cases. Hope this helped :)

when i did this this case i figured that if i went to get the dusenberg (the fastest and more importantly the most expensive car in the game) and crashed a few of them it should get me the trophy, funny thing was i must have crashed more than i thought as i ended up with $180,000 worth of damage lol. when it got to the end screen and my total figures came up i waited until my trophy appeared and then quit, that way i didnt have to register the one star rating i achieved.

I thought it was Ben Shapiro playing L.A. Noire.

1:16 it kind of looks like one of the earlier batmobiles in the comics.

Sadly the Rockstar Social Club doesn't appear to support the PS4 version of L.A. Noire.

I'm going for the get 5 stars for all cases achievement (first play through on PC) so far so good. But my question is, can I go back to an earlier case that I have 5 stars on and do this (which will give me 0 stars as said) and still keep my 5 stars for that case or do I have to do it again after I get the achievement to get it back to 5 stars. And does doing this on an earlier case after I've gotten 5 stars on it mess up my attempt at all 5 star cases achievement?

@WillTheGamer101 uh uh uh, dont going assuming. just because hugo moller was charged with the murder doesnt mean he did it. throughout the game you can sometimes decide who you want to charge.

I just drove up and down sidewalks, it turns out that benches are worth alot to the city.

@Thefallenraptor they respawn for me, just make sure you arent too close to its garage when you wreak it, otherwise just drive far from its spawn and go back

so u have to do this whilst solving a case? which case is the easiest to solve and you can do this on? and can u let the partner drive to the locations where the hidden cars are without fucking up the damage thingy?

Or you could destroy "Phantom Corsair" each car costs $24,000. I destroyed only 6 and my damage was $184,000 (inlc. other vehicles, city property damage).

I tried it twice, first time it was about $30,000 which of course wasn't enough, the second time I tried it was over $130,000 it took me so long, but thanks Geoff, it worked

I have a question completely off topic. If I buy the dlc's for L.A. Noire, do I have to replay the whole entire game or do I just start off in a dlc?

Another way, is to make sure most of the question marks is in the map. Then say "fuck it" to the story and drive to unlock the hidden cars and drive the worst as possible as ever when collecting the hidden cars/landmarks/film reels.

@RememberSoCal the Graphics are great, just one tip though - don't tab out, unless you want to wait a good 10-30 seconds for the game to un-fuck itself. I have everything cranked to max, looks beautiful, runs butter smooth.

I just did this by getting in the first car i saw and smashing them up .. i ended up with 126K of damage at the end .. overkill!!!!

I was getting my mayhem loving friend to get this achievement for me, then this video came up just as e was giving in. But before I could finish watching this, I completed the case, and we just got the achievement. Basically, I'm winning

Another thing to mention on this one is don't bother hitting civilians, not only are they hard as hell to hit but the damages earned from them are tiny (I easily hit around 100 people and I maybe got about 3000 from civilians)

@BrainLuster there is a way to change it actually. if you call rockstar tech support (or whatever is listed in the instruction manual or the game box) and explain the situation to them they'll gladly switch it over :)

I am cannot believe that when I tried to do this I was aiming for the 47k goal but when I reached the end I could not believe I did $123,564 worth of damage I was so shocked on how much I did in 30 minutes on cheap cars

Just start any case, and go nuts destroying anything and everything for like a half hour. (Then restart the case so it doesn't effect your 5-star rating on the case.)

According to the rockstar site the Deusenberg cost $24,000 when it was new.. do you get the full amount for totaling one, because that would be an easy way to get half way there. ;)
