Acer Aspire 5315 Destruction

Ойын-сауық

Today we check out a laptop someone dropped off to mess around with, an acer aspire 5315 that has seen some better days. This came with Vista Basic and a 1GB of RAM, After troubleshooting to get it back running we see what it takes to break it again
Sorry for the flashes of what seems like subliminal messaging in the video, That is a problem in editing I am trying to track down! Learning all new gear and computer software for 2019, (Adobe Premiere on a damn PC)

    It's been a while since a proper computer destruction video. I think I remember seeing these laptops back in the day, they were quite popular. But I think most of them are dead by now(I don't think a mobile Celeron processor is usable by today's standards. Should be weaker than the mobile Core 2 Duo which was also popular at the time of that Acer's release but somewhat still usable today.)

  • @sebastianramadan8393

    @sebastianramadan8393

    5 жыл бұрын

    You now know: there was a line of processors before the Core2 line, this was called the "Core" line... Core Duo and Core Quad were the first Intel ventures into 32- and possibly 64-bit multiprocessor x86 CPUs. Intel tore down both of these product lines when they were superseded by Core i3, i5, i7 and i9 (which they still maintain all of)... as for Pentium and Celeron, they still maintain these product lines... but they're not single-core, anymore, like they were back in the day of the P4 (short-hand for Pentium 4) and P4 Celeron processors. What I think you're remembering is when the Pentium product line was the star product of Intel, and the Celeron was the budget product for offices, businesses and school computers... where-as nowadays, Pentium is not the star, but also should not be out of the question if all you want to do is watch youtube, compose word documents and so forth... It's a shame, but can you expect a major corporation to not exploit its own trademarks? Heck no, they're greedy as hell, right? You could say, once again, we come to the end of an era for the x86 processor, and AMD is once again on top for the budget oriented enthusiast seeking a processor with all of its features unlocked... but things do not look well in the x86 world, with most mobile phones, portable devices and TVs nowadays taking on ARM processors from the likes of Texas Instruments instead of x86 processors from Intel or AMD... When a greedy multinational company sees competing technologies, they'll often just rebrand their tech with new badges, making "GAMERS editions" that sell at different prices purely based on the colour or some LED controller or something... and I'd suggest this explains a lot of what we've seen from Intel, in particular, and... nVidia, AMD is guilty of it too... Corsair... we have a lot of companies playing these brand-related tricks.

  • @sebastianramadan8393

    @sebastianramadan8393

    5 жыл бұрын

    I guess what I'm trying to say also applies to the audio industry nowadays... Sony still exists, right, but do they make good speakers or amps? Pentium still exists... as in there are still "Pentium"-branded computers (which are next to nothing like that which you're remembering in the Celeron brand)... Celeron too... but that's the thing, just because the brand exists, that doesn't mean it represents the same thing anymore. Ford used to be renowned for their Mustang and Falcon lines of cars... but things changed... Holden too. You can still buy Ford and Holden cars, brand new from the factory, 2019 edition... but they'll suck. Have you ever gone to the shops and spent a good few minutes looking for your preferred type of razor only to find the packaging has significantly changed, maybe the cheap ones look more like the old expensive ones (but are the same price) and there are new expensive ones or something... I don't know. All of these greedy companies play brand-related tricks on us quite regularly.
