Nice video. Pretty well explained. I saw many Tagalog/Filipino videos that are hard to understand so this is much better. Main DC input was shorted. Then checking the main power line you found a shorted reverse voltage diode, removed it and short was gone.

VERY nice video. The narration was very clear and easy to understand. I have the same computer where the fan will not stop running after shutdown. Tried all the power option settings and reinstall the OS but nothing works. Upgraded the BIOS. Used a different m.2 ssd but didn't work I use the computer with the fam unplugged. The cpu gets to 45c so It's OK, normal was 35c. Thank you for the video. I'm now a new subscriber.

Bro, oxidized na yung tip ng soldering iron mo. Bili ka na ng bagong tip and practice tip tinning and proper maintenance para tumagal. Also, if dealing with desoldering SMTs, mainam ang heat gun.

Hello Tevz, I have the exact model where my fan runs all of the time even when it's turned off thus draining the battery. Is there anything I could look for? I flashed to the latest BIOS. No fan adjustments there. I also tried changing the settings in power options but it didn't work. Thank you, Ralph

In ogni caso è meglio mettere il diodo di protezione ,il diodo serve per proteggere il circuito in caso per errore si inverte la polarita dell'ingresso dell'alimentatore, mancando questo diodo in caso di errore di polarità si brucia gran parte del circuito

4:36 It's got a shorted TVS diode just like cheap arse HP's do n I'm certain I'm right cuz I've replaced hundreds of em with 24V Zener it is there for a purpose to protect the motherboard from spikes from lightening etc if it was only reverse polaraity an ordinary diode could do that, a pro tech who warranties his work for 3mths as I do by law would replace it!

I think it was been got shorted when the charger dc plug is inserted, the positive is connected first. a surge of electricity shorts it.

@@tevzTVTevatronics Well that's what it's there for to STOP spikes that could kill the charge controller IC or even worse the SIO IC!..... But hey if you like doing sloppy work n I don't know if you warranty your work or not but if you do n it comes back with a fried SIO that has the bios in it WTF do you do?... All over a 24V Zener... A few cents for piece of mind self satisfaction n pride in your work, you have to ask yourself is it worth the risk for a few cents to do it right the first time?... Only you can answer that!

@@preston963 putting a Zener is a bad idea, what if every unit gets this trouble only by a spike of electricity turn up of not able to charge. it has a mosfet in the DC line which handles the spikes of electricity. a diode across the DC line is not necessary.

@@tevzTVTevatronics A 24V zener won't trip from a 19V laptop supply that's the voltage of the original zener you removed n look how long it lasted I've been doing this for yrs with no problems or if you don't want put a zener back at least an ordinary 1N4007 for reverse polarity protection. I've been a tech 40yrs!
