The worst thing about having acne is that people who don't CANNOT empathize. My mom would call me "vain" every time I had to put foundation on to go somewhere. Like I'm not doing this because I want to look like a supermodel at the grocery store? I literally just want to look "normal" and not have people stare at my bad skin.

That’s so relatable, I had similar situation where my mom would call me conceited when I didn’t want to go out because of acne; and I’m like “You just can’t understand”. I wish people didn’t undermine skin issues and took them as serious as other health problems...

a month on acutane for me right now and all my blackheads are being pushed out of my nose and chin, my skin is super dry and i put lotion on my face, my lips get super dry, so i put chapstick on them, it’s bad but all i think about is it will completely worth it in the end💯

I start this week. How did your journey go?

accutane changed my life. i didn't truly realise how much my acne influenced my life until it started to clear up. i did it for 2 months and my skin cleared and then i relapsed a few months after being on it but i was able to manage it with the ordinary niacinamide because it wasn't half as bad x

I want you to know you made a difference. Thanks for opening up to the world. Takes a lot of courage. Seeing you grow like this makes me so happy. Congratulations on making it Aspen. Honestly. Really happy for you. Lots of love

I think the national average is closer to 90% My doctor told me 95% of his patients got completely clear skin. And less than 50% had to come back after a while because their acne returned. BUT most of the people who have it return didnt have good skin care post accutane. Talk to your dermatologist and see wh as t his/her results are

So happy for you.... having acne is one long emotional rollercoaster. Sadly, I had to stop my treatment...while taking it I developed upper abdominal pain. I should have been very decisive about my dosage like you were....glad you stayed at 30mg..I wish you the best through your treatment. PQ

I understand everything you’ve went through I’ve had acne since grade 5 and it’s gotten worse year by year. I’ve done research and tried everything even going to beauticians and doing facials. My acne was starting to make me really depressed and I’d always feel gross when I looked at myself in the mirror. I had a blood test today to made sure I’m okay to start accutine. You're stunning! I have had acne since freshman year of high school and I am now 22 years old. Still have horrible acne but am scared to go on accutane. Video helped me and now I am considering it.

Btw for a lot of people accutane most likely “purges” your skin for the first two months . Soooo don’t lose hope my friend went through that whole thing. Also ! I start tomorrow and I’m so excited !

Accutane is the brand name, isotretinoin is the generic name. The name didn’t change. Isotretinoin is the indgredient. Accutane is the brand name and there are many other brand names

@@jerwinsilverio4365 So far so good! First month on 30mg. The standard symptoms (dryness of skin, eyes, hair and lips, some headaches/nausea, backache) but manageable. Went up to 60mg 4 days ago and I'm holding steady, skin just drying out further for obvious reasons. Fewer breakouts and they heal faster. Just have to watch the dry facial skin as it can crack if not cared for.

i have been on accutane for almost 1 month and i can tell it was a great decision. so far i’ve had super super dry lips and skin, blood coming out of my nose (by far the worse), back pain and thirst. i’ve been pretty lucky cus i haven’t had my initial breakout and i hope i don’t have one lol. and my skin has got better like crazy! i’m pretty excited by far. just want y’all to know that focusing in healing and being positive is what has been keeping me alive (jk). anyway, hope y’all doing well too.

I’ve been dealing with ache since the 3RD GRADE! and I’m going into 7 grade I basically I’ve had ache for about 4 years -_- and this is the thing the ache like goes away but then when it goes away it spreads even more like down my neck and stuff and I’m like WHY?! Yo, I've been there. My skin was broken out in cysts and I was forced to go out and eat at a sit down restaurant and all I did was cry the whole time until they let me go and sit in the car.

you're so cute!! I am on day 8 and am starting to get dry lips and dry skin, and have like maybe 3 cysts going on. The other day, my skin was completely clear except for a huge fuckin mountain on my chin. Idk if that would've happened anyway, or if I'm already starting to purge. but i'm excited for the final results

Carla Scerpella Gotta work from the inside as well. Get 7-8 hrs of sleep, workout (nothing to severe) just sweat it out. Take a lot of fruits (orange, pineapple) Drink a lot of water. You should hopefully see results. Good luck!

its worth it. I started accutane when I was 15 and I was was done after 9 months. I had extremely severe acne all over my body. I was left with tons of hyper pigmentation which all proceeded to fade completely and I was left with unrealistically clear skin for about 6 months. Acne came back about 10% of its severity and I have very little hyper pigmentation from my new break out. I am currently on my 2nd course of accutane doing my 3rd month. Im already clear and hyper pigmentation is fading like a charm. I wish you luck and know that your acne has a chance of returning. 50% of people need a second course.

Hi aspen, I follow some of your social media which is what brought me to your channel here. I’m going to tell you my accutane experience. But, before I do, I don’t want it to scare you. I just want you to do your research and give you some hints so you can avoid some serious problems I now have because of accutane. I took accuatene for 5 months and should have quit after a few weeks. But I was dumb and stubborn and wanted the acne to go away. Accutane has caused me to have very serious joint problems that continued to get worse and worse over the years. I am 27 and feel like I’m 80. I can barely walk my ankles and knees hurt so bad. And unfortunately, It looks like it’s for life now. It’s basically crippled me. I went from being in the greatest shape of my life, a college baseball player, being fit and healthy, to barely being able to walk now. But here’s where I went wrong, for my monthly checkups, my dr. would always ask me if my joints hurt or if I had any side effects and I would always say no. Only because I did not want to stop the treatment because I wanted it to clear up my face for good. And honestly, at the time of taking the treatment my joints only hurt very mildly but they began hurting just a few weeks into the treatment. But after the treatment ended and the months and years went on, the joint pain got worse and worse and worse. No doctor and no remedy has been able to help. My quality of life is very poor now because of accutane. I have other long term side effects also that I won’t talk about on here. Taking accutane was the biggest mistake of my life. Please please please, if you start to have even the slightest joint pain, call your doctor. Please. I don’t want this to happen to you. It’s unfortunately happened to a lot of people. If you start to get blurry vision or any joint pain at all, talk to your doctor.

I am in the same boat. I just started differin a week ago. I am purging and it hurts so bad. They want me to try this And if this doesn’t work I am trying accutane.

On day 7 and my face is dry and my skin and lips are peeling a little. Water, chapstick, lotion and fish oil is what’s helping me. A bit emotional. But no breakouts! Can’t wait to have clear skin😭

Stay positive girly!! You're doing great! My boyfriend used acutane back in high school and had nothing but bad reviews but I've seen a lot of great reviews on KZread! My skin isn't bad enough to try acutane, not yet anyways.. I hope it doesn't get that bad.. I'm currently trying out curology and I'm not really seeing any results either.. I'm gonna try and stay positive and keep up with it but I wish you the best of luck and can't wait to see your second months journey! :)

How did the dry lips feel? We’re the sunburns really that bad?

Can you plzz tell i have heard of various blood tests every month before taking this pill and and in continuation with it too and is this easily prescribed by the doctor or u have to certainly ask for it??

I must say ure very very lucky n blessed not to have any major side effects. Im 1 day away from beginning to use accutane and im so afriad yet still excited because ik im gonna receive great results in the end

iRwdy hey man. I got off accutane because it was so harsh on me. I kept getting depressed and my skin was constantly dry and red. Nose bleeds were very very common. I was woken up during the middle of the night to my nose bleeding. I couldn’t take the side affects anymore. I decided to take a different route.

on my 2nd pack (day 12 today) i been heistant to get this drug for more than 7 years because I am scared but im 31 this year and still breaking out so bad... i had enough so i decided to just go for it. im on 40 mg and praying to all the Gods that this works out for me. so far I am still breakingout.. will see

I am starting accutane next month and I am very excited!!! I am 13 and have very very bad cystic acne and acne scars. I hope that it will work and clear my skin because it’s at the point to when I moisturize my face it hurts to touch it. I hope accutane will work!!

Wow ! 3 years ago I underwent depression due to extremely severe acne , cysts all over my face and scarring and redness , but after a year of no avail from dermatologists or skin regimes , I found a KZread vid and used Cerave facial foaming wash ! It worked miracles! Now 7 years later , I’m getting cystic acne but on my jaw line and neck now! Idk why! My face doesn’t break out because I’ve been using the cerave since way back then, but I’m starting to get scared I’ll go thru the same thing I fought years ago :( long story short , I’m glad your skin looks amazing now, and I’m happy that your happy cos acne is a big bitch :( lol

I just want to let you guys know accutane is not the only solution . I had severe acne and cured it by getting tons of facials and Chemical peels. The Derm will tell you accutane is the only option and sometimes it is but try clearing it up in other ways before turning to that cuz it’s very damaging to body.

I just started a week ago and it’s gotten worse but my dermatologist told me that it’ll get worse before it gets better I’m also not sure when I’ll start seeing results 😕

I finished my 6-month journey on Accutane last month, as I have learned a few things that helped me. At night, I used Burts Bees Herbal Complexion stick with tea tree oil to spot treat any zits I did have. I also used the ordinary 100% organic cold-pressed rosehip seed oil to help with the dryness and fade scars. The best lip balm I have tried when my lips got really chapped was the Laneige lip sleeping mask at night and then in the day, I used the smith's rosebud salve. Then for a moisturizer, I used the ponds dry skin cream, which really helped. After I was done with Accutane, my skin went from oily to really dry. So, I had to create a whole new skincare routine, which is now, in the morning, First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Wash, (gentle exfoliator), then Ole Henriksen Truth Serum (fade scars), ole Henriksen banana bright eye cream, then belif the true cream aqua bomb (great moisturizer). Then at night, I use the same face wash, Fresh Rose deep hydration facial toner, the burts bees herbal complexion stick, the belif moisturizer, then the rose hip seed oil, and finally the Laneige lip sleeping mask. I really recommend the belif moisturizer if your doctor puts you on epiduo forte (retinol cream to get rid of scars) after finishing Accutane. Also, the Sebastian dark oil really helped my hair. All in all, do not be scared about the whole process and how time-consuming it is because, in the end, it is completely worth it. My skin has changed so much, and I started to see major results around month 4. Just some tricks I have, also always keep chapstick with you!

my mom keep telling me that i shouldn't go on it, because i just should eat better and stress less yeah, if only stressing less was that easy and i've tried being on a diet before and yes, my skin cleared up, but i literally was dead inside i think i had depression at that time, i was always stressing out about what i can and can't eat, my whole day would be about my skin, i was just so tired and frustrated now i'm doing some blood tests to be sure that i can start the treatment, i'm hoping that i can because my mental health is really bad becouse of my acne

of course, i understand why you may feel confused. i would like to say that there is a difference between being self conscious & confidence. a person, regardless of how much they post, can still have times of self consciousness. my confidence, i like to believe, comes from within. which then gives you reason as to why, even though i may be self conscious about my skin at times, still able to be confident & outgoing on social media. i hope that helps, ❤️❤️.

When she stated it that way the audience perceives that as a joke because then why does she numerous of action on media? Do you see where I’m headed I’m not trying to bash you just in a third party point of view . I post because I’m confident in myself in how I look and inside . Ezgi Guneysu I just finished 2 weeks ago. It completely cleared my hormonal acne. It works. My main side effect was skin and lip dryness. The last month I was on a high dosage (80mg) and that was pretty tough. Overall, happy I did it and done. I think it was worth it!

Ezgi Guneysu I have not! My dermatologist prescribed me Tretinoin cream. It’s essentially a topical form of Accutane (Vitamin A) and has really great results not only for acne but reversing fine lines and wrinkles! You should look up Dr. Dray’s videos on Accutane, Tretinoin and Retin-A. They helped me lots! 😊 Hope this helps and good luck.

Your derm will want to increase your dose because you need to get to a cumulative dose based on your weight. If you stay on 30 mg you will be on accutane for a year basically. Otherwise you will not reach the cumulative dose which is classified as treatment failure in the literature. Also, please do not use scrubs while on accutane and I really hope you're using SPF. Please please please educate yourself. There is a lot you don't know and it shows.

I just started month 2, i first started off with 40mg but my doctor lowered my dosage to 30mg because i was having a lot of back pain, ive been 15 days in my second month and my acne lowkey started to grow back but just zits in random places instead of pimples all over my cheek and forehead.

She said she has cystic acne which is under the skin and some cystic acne doesn’t rise to the surface so it doesn’t look like typical acne but it’s the worst to have

You are so pretty, please stop rubbing your eyes like that. You’re creating future wrinkles. I think you did it more than 10 times in this video and it was so painful to watch....

would love to see a daily skincare routine! Your skin looks great!

I am one month in! And very dry and pale, but happy so far 💓

I’m getting started. So lucky is quarantine

I started accutane about a week ago (only 5mg) and for the first couple days my skin was doing so good. However, rn it’s getting a little worse which is what my dermatologist said it might do. Anyway I just can’t wait to see my skin in six months from now.

Aftet how many day side effect had start did u experience dry ?eyes

I started on Roaccutane last tuesday. I've had acne since I was 14 and I am now 17. I was initially put on Duac and that worked wonders but then I became resistant to it. I was the prescribed Tetralysal and Differin and that also worked really well but I eventually became resistant to that after a year and a bit. I have never had cystic acne and all of my acne has been in my t-zone but when i went to the dermatologist he said that my last option was Roaccutane or just the pill. I decided to go for roaccutane because its a permanent solution to acne. From what I've heard the pill is only temporary and as soon as you come off it your hormones only make your acne worse. So far I've been a little more thirsty than usual, my skins been itchy, any cuts I had before starting it have been sore and my scalp has been dry and itchy. Thanks so much for making this video, I'll continue to watch your videos and I'm praying that roaccutane is the permanent solution for me because I know that it doesn't work for everyone.

I just started 2 weeks ago. Ive lost focus, dry skin and very dry lips, been a bit stressed out and feeling just a little 'depressed'. My nose has been bleeding a lot. It sucks but its a good solution

Ben Ruckel Goodness, if you ever need to talk or whatever I’m here. My nose was a little bloody on Monday and my lips have become increasingly dryer but the worst has been today because my scalp was insanely itchy. I’m scared that everyone in school will think I have nits 😬😬
