Really good review. Just taken deliver of Granville Manor and think its probably the best steam model I have had in the last 70 years! Detail and finish is pristine and my only problem is its a bit quiet as others have said. Accurascale provide the necessary CV details and I have adjusted them all but there is no difference. As previously mentioned two or three locos on at the same time and it doesn't matter. Excellent loco in my opinion. 😊
Hi Jenny. I bought two Accurascale Manors, Erlestoke and Bradley and they are indeed outstanding models. However, much to my dismay I found that I could not change the DCC running numbers to my favoured 4 digits. I also find them very quiet and the CV does not respond to my changes. Simon at Accurascale tried all ways to correct this for me but was unable to correct the problem. Have you had any similar comments.
I have a sound fitted version and I am very happy with the way it preforms! However the volume is very quiet. Another member of my local model railway club also has the same problem. John JMC has upgraded his example to get over this problem. As yet I’m unable to find anyone with the hardware to do this for me. The saga continues!

Mine too. Came straight from accurascale. So low in fact I sold it on. I checked the volume and settings. Already at it’s max.
Lovely looking model, good to see such premium features at a more reasonable price. I can't wait for them to hit some LNER region steam, so I can feature them on my layout.
Makes me look forward to my liverpool street pilot!
I have 4 now 02, 12, 19 and 20. all run well and not had any issues with detailing parts or glue marks. top marks from me on this model. If Accurascale do a Hall i will need to re-mortgage the house to replace my existing collection of halls.
Have you heard about the motor issues with accurascale class 37? Lots of issues now being mentioned on you tube.
Hey there you didn't highlight the fact the water filler cap lifts up. Great video as always keep up the good work
I have 7802 Bradley Manor. It’s a stunning model and with the details parts and some weathering it will be outstanding.
Mind certainly feels very well made. I’ve not found it problematically fragile in spite of the high detail.
Interesting review, thanks. Having now received mine, do you find yours slows down if you run it around R2 curves? I know we shouldn't use such corners, but some of us have to! I think, by adhering to the 14.4 - 14.5mm back to back (which they have, unlike other 00 gauge manufacturers) the extra drag caused by the flange on rail and the 3 pole motor cause the engine to slow down even running light, let alone pulling a load. Or is this something peculiar to my example do you think?
When was it decideret that OO--Scale is 1/76?
Has nobody else noticed the mismatch between the chimney base and copper cap diameter? Otherwise extremely impressive.
Both the Accurascale and Dapol Manor models are decent models. I received the Erlestoke Manor Accurascale I had ordered from Hattons yesterday (been sitting in the Hattons trunk since release) and I was very surprised how large the box was it was in.
I was very tempted by the Dapol manor BUT after seeing them in the flesh they looked dull and toy like. Seeing my Accurascale Manor for the first time I was blown away with how amazing it looked. Only loco I can see an equivalent level of detail are the 94XX from Bachmann or the 15xx from Rapido. An amazing model and whilst the sound isn’t as loud as others… I find the sound pleasing rather than taking over the layout and ending up with a cacophony of noise rather than pleasing sounds. As such I turned volume down on other loco’s.
Is the overhead power warning barrier accurate for the earlier BR livery?

I don't believe so. i think it was also only applied to manors which were allocated to depots in the midland region when the boundary's changed so not all late crest manors would have had them. i might be wrong but thats my understanding. if you want to be historically accurate i'd recommend some research into your chosen loco to see if you can see any reference photos with the goal posts fittted.
What's the squared red 'frame' on the front of the tender?

known as goal posts, they were a warning for the over head electrification which was on some routes..
It's a nice model but the choice of motor is a strange decision having a 3-pole motor in a model like the Hornby W4 Peckett is understandable but with a model like the size of the Manor a bigger motor could have been used.
I'm very pleased with my two however in my opinion the motor and mechanism is better on the Dapol version. Aesthetically the Accurascale is unbeatable though.
Accurascale offer excellent value for money Expensive but not much more than Hornby and bachman and sometimes cheaper Great amount of detail and all decent runners
It looks spot on but for firewoman Jenny.
