Did you ever try Larp as an Archer? I know the arrows don't behave like the real ones but you got all the risks in it. - don't miss, an arrow costs ~10 euros and you may loose it in the bushes - aim good, because if you hit your target in the groin or face, they will be pretty pissed - the target don't want to be hit so they will move, charge you, try to cover themselves with shields or hide somewhere All this while you have to keep an eye on your surrounding because other people want to shoot or hit you too. I am not really an experienced archer, means i only fooled around with bow and arrow 15 years ago and tried to do it in Larp once, ca. 5 years ago. But doing it at an event which lasted 2.5 days improved my skills massively due to all the reasons above

I'm seeing this video for the first time today. But I'm already doing this. I go to a free public archery range. I do multi target active shooting. 20 arrows, 5 stationary hay bales, and 4 arrows each target. So I take up 5 lanes, and in each round, I try to shoot all my arrows while traversing in under 45 seconds. Remember, I shoot at a free range, so it's not really ideal to take up more than 2 lanes. So I bike into this range before they open in the morning, usually daily, and I pick this time as there is usually no one there at all, 20 lanes total. This past winter has been brutal! It's like super cold. And it's more painful on open hands, no gloves. I learned that shooting under stress (freezing cold) does make you better. One day, I got sick of the cold and fog, that I waited till noon to shoot, and I noticed such a difference when conditions were ideal.

Good idea now I just need some sea access with no other people around. :) But you can do other incentives, if you have trainingspartner you could do it like basketball horse. One sets the distance and maybe some other difficulties like crouching or doing pushups before. If the first hits his shot the other has to do the same. If not the other player sets the rules for the next shot. Shooting in the woods on 3D parcourse has a similar challenge, miss and you can have a broken arrow as it hits a rock or tree. I know that olympic archers train sometimes with a timelimit to put more pressure on them, and making it easier for them during contests. Either shooting more arrows in the same timeframe as in a competition or just halving the time for shooting. For a speed shooter like you that might not be really an option but for people that aim, and often spend too much time aiming this can help. I like your way of thinking outside the box for training ideas.

I like it! I would love to have somebody to shoot with me.. but! I do not even know personally somebody who does archery within 100 km around me. So I need to do everything myself. Well, the one who thinks out of the box is definitely you! Great job!
