    When part of a borrowed fund is invested, what is deducted from the total borrownig cost to be capitalized, is it the interest (gains) or what? Great video sir

    Thank you so much for this sir. You have been a blessing to me. In the first illustration (KK Ltd), the total borrowing cost is $30m (15% x $200m). How come the borrowing cost to be capitalised is $45m which is more than the total borrowing cost?

    The total borrowing cost is = $222.5 instead of $ 245 I think the calculation was incorrect for the borrowing cost. the correct amount is $22.5. I stand to be corrected otherwise the video is very informative, thank you Nhyira.

    If a company purchased a telephone, can we depreciate it as a fixed asset or what is the treatment we apply on it at the end of accounting period.

  • @NhyiraPremium

    @NhyiraPremium

    3 жыл бұрын

    It depends, the Entity could it off or depreciate it based on determination of materiality. In other words, some companies may see the cost of the telephone as material (huge cost) while others may see it as immaterial (less substantial cost).

    sir please with the first question solved, when calculating for the borrowing cost to be capitalized, why did you use 1.5years instead of the 18months

  • @NhyiraPremium

    @NhyiraPremium

    You can still use the 18 months. 18 months is equivalent to 1.5 years

    In the case that u wanted to multiply by 18months with no over 12, i think you will be assuming that the interest rate is charged monthly not yearly
