A true top-of-the-line teacher. No fluffy, extra-wordy teaching. Just straight to the topic and excellent style in his delivery.

I'm very glad that you started this series. To give billing access to an IAM account just the policy isn't enough. We need to enable "IAM User and Role Access to Billing Information" in root account settings. Hope this helps for anyone interested.

Sir, I went through many courses but never understood so beautifully as you have explained here. You have taught in a very holistic way covering all the required aspects for deploying an app to aws and you have done so beautifully while explaining things that any person who has this threat of cloud services and where to start from etc if such a person watches these tutorials of yours he will become a master. Other guys out there make things very complicated while explaining and shows the same thing which you have taught but it seems that it is so difficult by their methods that anyone else would get demotivated to go ahead. Thanks to you. You are the best tutor :) In short, max, you make the learning super awesome and easy:)

Well done with covering IAM well in the video. AWS IAM IMO is the foundation to starting in AWS Security and you have explained the use case well. Keep up the awesome work!

interesting video, thanks Max. Would be very interesting to see your approach for app security . I watched recently that nginux can be used as a proxy server to your front-end or back end. Would it be possible to show how it works on AWS? I also dont know if there is a way to make your website protected from ddos attacks, i know cloudfare provides solutions to this, but is there a way for this through AWS?

AWS actually has a service which is enabled by default (and for free in is basic version) - AWS Shield. It protects you against many forms of DDos.

Awesome video, learned a lot, thanks! My questions are: 1. Does a developer need Programmatic Access AND AWS Management Console access? 2. By giving him this access, could he, potentially, delete the whole web application, without me being able to recover it again? Or can this only be done from the root account? We use Elastic Beanstalk.

Happy to hear you liked it! 1. Often, you have both, yes. Theoretically, either of the two would be enough but it's really convenient to be able to use both the console as well as set up automation with programmatic access. 2. That of course depends on the kind of permissions you give someone. You have super-fine-grained control over that though. You can really give someone just the permissions he needs.

Thanks for your quick reply! So right now I've provided the following permissions: AWSElasticBeanstalkFullAccess AmazonEC2FullAccess What should I choose instead in order to make sure nothing gets deleted? On the other hand, I don't want to restrict him so much that he can't deleted stuff that actually needs to be deleted. I find this quite difficult!
