Steam is a major cause of Iron corrosion, steam helps in creating Iron Oxide, which is a primary reason for car body damage, we should avoid such steam washes.

First and foremost, steam is more of a water saver in washings car. It does not cause iron oxide. That would require exposed bare metal parts which we all know is unrealistic as virtually all car bodies are now dipped in most manufacturing processes. The advantages of steam is a cleaner car, kills algae and mold which is a big problem on the north west coast of USA and Canada. Helps restore pliability of weather stripping pending the age. The down side is that someone may use this hold the steam to long in one place then burn or boil that spot. That's a very inexperienced user. This gentleman is using this properly. Efficiently I might add.

The temperature coming from steam cleaners is not hot enough to damage car paint. Car paint is designed to withstand very high temperatures

Really....piant may withstand ..but the plastic parts will expand and contract ....which may cause uneven gaps during long run...the steam wash generally used for construction and vehicles working more dirty condition to remove sticky stains ...why apply that to a car..i think normal foam wash is enough

No, it will not damage Ceramic Coating. In fact it will improve its life because it helps in removing polution on the top of ceramic coating everytime when you Steam wash.

It's for hard water that stick onto the paint

It's ok to use it once or twice a year.. for normal wash, use pressure washer.

Steam is useful where Rusted parts are there Paint will loose gradually & also plastic parts.Foam wash more than sufficient

Now if they can only steam clean their streets

It will not. I'm a detailer and it dosent. Paints can withstand very high temperatures. The steam is only concentrated in a small area for very little time.

@@CL4SSiCS need to thrash people like you who promote false information just to make ppl believe you and gain more money.. steam washing does damage the clear coat of the paint very drastically comparing normal pressure washes, because clear coats are deigned to withstand heat, but when the paint is heated, and when you apply force over it (here its steam) parallelly, it starts loosing the bond to the paint gradually. so stop brainwashing people man. steam wash is best for interiors that involves fabrics ,leather, plastics, etc ..but not on paint...

Hahaha no way he is doing that to clean car . That can peel paint off and working way too close to car . If lance on your nosel touch the surface you will need paint correction to get scratches out. I've got detailing business in Australia this is not how we do it here.

Steam isn’t good for exterior car cleaning application otherwise it would have been mainstream by now. Steam will over time cause rust and corrosion. Using a high pressure water wash will give you better if not better results without having to worry about corrosive damage to the car.

Marketing gimmick

Steam should only be used in moderation only after a few months to remove deep accumulated dust. Steaming and wiping would result in a lot of swirl marks. Wet wash is the best. I don't think saving water at the cost of micro scratching car makes sense. Rest your car your decision.
