You should have port forwarding feature in your home router for this.

first try ping command using the ip address

I have the same problem. The ping command with the ip address works, but not with the hostname...

Oh now it works: My Problem was that I first instanciated an object of MDNSresponder but this is wrong.
Great, I loved it, but what about to see the web page in a mobile phone?
