99% of dismissed students are never accepted back in school. More often than not, dismissal is a misuse of faculty and advisor privileges. I completely disagree that academic dismissal is not punitive. It is humiliating experience that I hope nobody has go through.

I was almost academically dismissed from the University of Illinois in Graduate School of Library and Information Science. I ended up with a GPA of one semester of 1.02, and I had to drop the whole program before I ended up dropped permanently for bad scholarship!!

I literally got dismissed from my school a few days ago. I feel terrible Like a failure honestly. I’m in the process now of appealing it. it’s one of the worst experiences I’ve been through

Even I was placed on Academic Exclusion recently by GSU for not maintaining 3.00 GPA for two consecutive semesters. I went into depression. I appeal was rejected twice…. It is definitely punitive. There was nobody to help and I wrote all the appeal letters myself. Even my advisor was not able to help me. I had 2.67 GPA and with few more courses I would have made it to 3.00 GPA. It was very humiliating experience. My reasons were not medical and the interactions between the professors on icollege were closed after the semester and I was unable to screenshot the conversations. 2 Professors played with my academic life.
