AC Brotherhood Horse Parkour Montage

I've spent a lot of time over the last week testing horse mechanics so I thought this vid would be a neat way to showcase everything I've learnt. There's a few things on this video I've not seen before on KZread so I thought I'd write a small tutorial in case any of you guys wanna try these moves out for yourself. Feel free to leave a comment if your struggling with anything, I try my best to reply to all of them. Enjoy!
Horse Flip
This is the most well known trick in this video but I figured it's worth explaining regardless. It's most commonly activated by jumping from a horse when nearing two beams (like the ones at 0:49). The easiest way to perform this move consistently is by holding high profile on horse back then double tapping and holding jump. Ezio will automatically jump to the beam once you get close enough. Alternatively I like to time the jump and double tap jump when nearing a beam. It's a bit harder to get used to but I feel it looks cleaner as an end product as ezio doesn't have to stand on horseback. If Ezio goes into a hang you jumped too close to the beam, if Ezio misses you jumped from too far away. It is also possible to choose which beam Ezio lands when the animation consists of two beams. Keep holding high profile after leaving the horse to land on the second beam (like at 0:49) or release high profile to land on the first beam (like at 2:31).
Horse Swing
A horse flip activates when the beams your swinging off are either equal in height (like at 0:49) or the further away beam is slightly elevated (like at 0:03). If the second beam is slightly lower (like at 1:14) Ezio will perform a rare swing animation. Both these animations can be triggered on many variations of poles and beams, rather than the mainly wooden beams people have used in the past, you can see a selection of these throughout the video. Although it's easier to show with the swing animation the second beam doesn't necessarily have to be a beam (as shown at 0:59 and 1:52). If you position the horse between yourself and the landing point Ezio can even land back on his horse (1:40). This allows Ezio to swing on objects he couldn't previously, such as beams (0:58), lantern beams (1:14), pigeon coops (2:38) and the lantern beams above shop windows.
Horse Tackle
To land smoothly back on your horse after a parkour sequence simply jumping and aiming is the most common way to do it. However from higher surfaces or awkward angles this is near enough impossible to do consistently. By triggering a tackle (high profile + empty hand) the game will automatically lock onto your horse rather than npcs (0:42) making it both a very effective method of parkour down and a great way to incorporate horse parkour. A horse tackle can be triggered from all surfaces, mid climb (1:26) and during a wall run.
I'd also like to use this video to draw attention to my friend Max, he's currently doing a stealth advent calendar (uploading an Ezio trilogy stealth video every day in December) and they've all been unbelievably high quality so far. Since I'm a small channel too I doubt I'll be able to make too much of a difference but I figured every little helps.

They didnt need to go so hard and in depth with this horse mechanics, but so glad they did. This is how it should be, something intwined with parkour, and not in its detriment

Yeah, it's amazing how much work was put into a feature only mentioned in one thieves challenge. It's really worth while learning though, I was surprised how many places I found to implement it.
Absolutely fucking based, amazing parkour. I didn’t know you could even horse swing back on to your horse, that’s amazing. I also appreciate the explanations in the description, they’re very helpful. Amazing work Stac!

@@Pedro_Le_Chef the music is "city of Rome" throughout the entire vid, it's a really nice track. I'm yet to try horse parkour in ac3 but I'm definitely gonna give it a try. The horse flip/horse swing animations are exclusive to brotherhood though iirc
