I am in canada for last 6 years, came as student gone through lot of struggles to get settle here . To be honestly saying , i would always recommend work under Canadian white employer rather than under Indian employer( particular north indian, Pakistani employers ) simple ah sonna ungala use panni vachu seivanga ,even they will use and throw. All the best @tamilDude your thoughts to bring out this things are great.

I am sri lankan tamil living in USA and had greencard, but worked for minimum wages while I am a student. Most Sri Lankan face this issue as family compare TN Tamils who come mostly through H1B1 and highly paid IT jobs. I am surprised you are bring this issue as a person from TN. salute for that. .I worked mostly for Indian owners, they are nice enough to give the first job but will suck your blood. This made me realize and empathize the labors in india and sri lanka. When you earn good money from job or business, dont be greedy to gain for more wealth for your children , help others and also pay and respect people work for you. Otherwise it is bad karma and miserable next life.

Tamil dube brother doing very good.
G wonderful video but will this apply to PR holders and new commers as well?? On restriction of time
I agree with you RJfacts. I'm a Srilankan Canadian living in Canada for 37 years. Migrated with my parents in my teens. Worked at 18teen in a fast wood restaurant and was cutting tomatoes and onions in a strange machine in the mid 80's and accidentally scraped my finger and was bleeding and told to wear 2 bandages and to continue working. This is how it starts and to become a responsible adult like a grown up I was also made to clean and unclog the toilets.. so what? How are we going to keep our area and the place clean if we only want to be on cash? Youngsters who come to study from other parts of the world are obviously rich and most probably haven't even cleaned their own belongings so this kind of work will be difficult. Mostly have mothers or servants to take care of them so this sort of experience is tough and hard life. But when you work for South Asians life is worse than this. No repect, mistreatment and salary is not that good. Honestly touch your heart and share that you youngsters coming from India from a upper middle class and rich family background have treated your mothers and servants with respect who has serviced you for sometime.

1. I’m sorry that you were made to work with your hands bleeding and blah blah blah but how can you justify it turns you into a responsible adult ? The point you are making is utter bullshit. 2. If cleaning toilets come under the scope of work then it has to be done no matter what… even if I get paid in cash or SIN…. That’s has nothing to do with keeping the area clean and other things you quote. 3.What does treating domestic help has to do with the abuse students are facing here ? Just because people are rich or from a middle class background doesn’t mean they have a household help for everything. Just don’t make irresponsible remarks just for the sake of it… please watch the video fully and try to understand the problem first.

@@juliusperera5629 We all have interacted with some people that seem to have a lack of empathy, at some point of our lives. It can be someone at work, within our personal relationships, and even within our friend group. Those experiences can leave us feeling frustrated, unsettled, angry, disappointed, and even betrayed, especially when we need support. It gets especially painful if you are in a relationship with someone who is unable to put themselves in your shoes. Especially when we consider some of these people our friends, or maybe even worse, when those people are family members and we have to be in contact with them frequently. In this article, I will share with you the signs when someone is lacking empathy, why some people seem to lack it, how to deal with them and introduce you to Empathy Deficit Disorder, which occurs in some people. This insight will help you so that you don’t feel so frustrated and disappointed, help give you meaning and help you lead a happier life. Why Some People Have a Lack of Empathy (An Introduction to Empathy Deficit Disorder) What Exactly Is Empathy? The psychological identification with or vicarious experiencing of the feelings, thoughts, or attitudes of another. The word originates from the Greek word “empatheia”, meaning physical affection or passion. The experience of understanding another person’s thoughts, feelings, and condition from their point of view, rather than from your own. You try to imagine yourself in their place in order to understand what they are feeling or experiencing. In other words, empathy is when you’re able to put yourself in someone else’s position, both at an emotional and intellectual level. Additionally, Empathy is one of the defining characteristics and foundational pieces of emotional intelligence. Mental Health America defines Emotional intelligence as The ability to manage both your own emotions and understand the emotions of people around you. True compassion means not only feeling another’s pain but also being moved to help relieve it - Daniel Goleman.

@@juliusperera5629 Signs That Someone Lacks Empathy Even though human beings are social creatures by nature, empathy doesn’t come naturally to all of us. Some people are more empathetic than others. In more extreme cases where people lack empathy, some people suffer from Empathy Deficit Disorder (EDD). As Douglas LaBier, Ph.D., a business psychologist, psychoanalytic psychotherapist, and the Director of the Center for Progressive Development in Washington, DC. said, Empathy Deficit Disorder is a pervasive but overlooked condition. In fact, our increasingly polarized social and political culture of the past few years reveals that EDD is more severe than ever. It has profound consequences for the mental health of both individuals and society. He explains that when you suffer EDD, you are unable to step outside yourself and tune in to what other people experience, especially those who feel, think and believe differently from yourself. That makes it a source of personal conflicts of communication breakdown in intimate relationships and of adversarial attitudes - including hatred - towards groups of people who differ in their beliefs, traditions or ways of life from your own. Here are some signs that will help you identify if someone around you lacks empathy: They jump fast into criticizing others without putting themselves in other people’s shoes. They seem to be cold or just out of touch for people that are suffering or are less fortunate. They believe 100% in the rightness of their own ideas and/or beliefs, and judge anyone who does not hold their beliefs as wrong, ignorant or stupid. They have trouble feeling happy for others. They have trouble making or keeping friends. They have trouble getting along with family members. They feel entitled to receiving favors and use you to serve their needs without showing appreciation. They will even get offended if they don’t get their way. In a group setting, they will talk a lot about themselves and their lives without really caring about what other people share. They do or say something that hurts a friend or a loved one, and tend to blame his/her actions on them. They truly believe that the fault is in the person receiving the hurt because they reacted poorly, were rude or were oversensitive. The truth is that without empathy, it is hard to connect with others and create deep emotional connections. This can cause problems in relationships, as people aren’t felt seen or heard.

Konjam achum common sense oda pesunga da… tharkuri maari comment pannitu irukeenga… 1.If students use phone during work hours then the work supervisor has to deal with it, that doesn’t mean they can abuse the students. 2.Students phone use pandrathunala accidents aaguthu nu proven fact iruka? Chumma comment podanum nu varatheenga kelambi Ungala maari aalunga thaan silent ah abuse eh encourage pandrathum
Very good service
Very well thought of!! At last someone has the courage to speak out in the public forum. Students go through a lot for finding a lucrative career in Canada. Employers usually abuse students as they are generally soft target and people can easily term them as a fresher just out of college/university even when students come with full time work experience from India. Wonder when this will change? The pay that is usually offered for new graduates also tend to be on a much lower side compared to what graduates are offered in the US, and Australia. People those who come straight to this country as a permanent resident need to stop being greedy and snatch away opportunities of students.
