If you watch some of my recent videos you will see customer is now more relaxed which makes tics occur much less. I have felt less safe in the car with other drivers than I have with this particular customer to be honest. Thanks for your input though 👍

    Lots of people, particularly those on the outside - but also those who have had a lot of abuse fed back to them because of their tics, can feel offended or upset when people make light of people finding the condition funny. But for me personally, I much prefer people like you who do make light of it, it's that awkward tension around my tics that I cannot stand. Providing I'm not in distress or hurting myself of course. It is a very bizarre condition!

    No doubt you've asked for permission to film and upload this but does Andrea find her tics become more frequent when on camera? I know many others in the Tourettes community find this, myself included. It's that limelight scenario which tics, particularly coprolalia (swearing tics) feed off, much to our dismay. I suppose it's like throwing yourself in the deep end, at this she'll know how her focus on controlling the car affects her tics, which in turn affects her driving. She'll know that even with heightened emotional states impacting her tics, she'll know whether she can drive safely or not.

    Hi Dylan, as the lessons have progressed, I feel they have improved. Not sure if thats a reflection on feeling comfortable now in the car, or if outside factors (feeling less stressed etc) have contributed to less tics now.

  • @DylanF

    @DylanF

    4 ай бұрын

    @@nlschoolofmotoring Ah that's awesome. Tics can unfortunately make or break driving for some of us, things like just an eye blinking tic can ruin things. Yeah, I think that's a fair assumption. It could also be the drive and focus on what needs to be done when she gets in the car. She knows what she needs to do and so her brain goes straight into that mode and doesn't have to stop for thought. Good for her!
