Abstract Acrylic Painting #28: " SERENE "

Hi All,
Welcome back to another abstract video. As always the paints I use are acrylic and this time I agian used my favorite soft charcoal to make the black lines.
Everytime I use charcaol I use a spray medium to set the charcoal so it sets and you can paint over it. In my video I show you which spray I use.

It’s great to watch the creative process. I’ve battled with my process, getting put off when I get stuck or it’s just no going anywhere. Watching videos like this make me realise I need to trust the process more and let go of the fact it often looks a right mess for a while before eventually coming together 😂

I love your artwork and to see the process of it. I am curious how you made the transition between the colors so smooth? Always when I paint, you see the edges of the colors to much..

Hoi Maartje, thank you❣️ I have the same problem, because acrylic paints dry so fast its harder to smooth and blend. But if you do, you need to work with both colours at the same time to flow/blend with each other 😊

Thank you, I mixed al lot of Colors together to create the ones I used 😅 So I am sorry I can not remember all of them
the pai ning is gorgeous and I lived the progress and the blending of colours... but please.. the music.....I know lot of painting tutorials which don't use explanations use this kind of monotonous music but it makes me turn down the sound immediately, while there is a spanish artist doing tutorials who uses beautyful serene backgeound music and whoch is so much more soothong and peacefull.I know it's a challenge to make your ouwn videos, the right position and lighting, all the little details you have to take into account, so why not take the time to choose a peace of music that is not this irritating.

Hi, I use Amsterdam, Lukas Cryl Studio or Winsor & Newton, most of the time and some unknown brands only availlible here in the Netherlands. I do not use any retarder 🙂

What’s the point of using charcoal pen in the beginning if you will cover it with colors anyway? I would love to understand that. I seen it to many artists

Thank you for your question. Its called markmaking and is a kind of warming up, just to make some marks without thinking about it, keeping your mind clear and maybe if the marks make some kind of starting background, you can go from there...Also completely covering it up is not always the case, if you take a closer look, sometimes its still visible through the layers of paint, in the background 😊
