One of the best fights i've seen in a very long time

Don't know if it was deliberately spit (not obvious IMO), but ref should not have stopped action. On verge of standing 8 count maybe anyway, 🤷🏼‍♂️

Notice the difference in atmosphere when the arena is full of brits 💪

Such a shame the ref didn’t deduct SEVERAL points from Nathan. Spat his gumshield out three times when hurt and constantly held and turned his back.

Yeah, poor refereeing there. I've always said, the ref should have a spare gumshield for each fighter on him so when this happens, it cam be replaced immediately and then he takes the one that was spat out, at the end of the round so if it happens again, he can just keep replacing it. Lots of fighters cheat like this now and Heaney was really hurt when he did it each time.

They need to stop this gumshield nonsense. If it comes out, it should be put straight back in by the ref, or alternatively the ref should have an extra gumshield for each fighter and put the it in. The corner taking their time to help their hurt fighter should be a point deduction.

Imagine if the away fighter tried to do it! Points deducted immediately. Brad won 100% to get a draw in effectively the opponents back yard is a win

Big Stoke / Heaney fan, Wanted him win but Paul deserved this for the never say die attitude and sheer metal. Amazing gripping boxing match. Rematch a must. Nathan better boxer Paul looks bigger hitter. Credit to both of them.

Really good fight to watch. I was doing laps around my living room out of tension during the last 2 rounds. I thought Heaney just nicked it but massive credit to Pauls. It was the first time I’d see Pauls and hope that he gets another chance on a big TV card.

Tough one to score. I had Heaney winning the boxing match on points but he lost the fight. He was hurt multiple times and was hanging on for dear life.

Draw probably the best decision. Heaney boxed behind his jab for the most part, showed good chin to stay on his feet. Paul took the fight to him and got his reward later on innthe fight. Needs a rematch and if it happens,id pick Brad Pauls to stop Heaney mid fight.

Was hard to pick em, could go 7-5 either way or 6-6….. imo. But let’s face it Heaney should’ve had points deducted for spitting his gumshield out TWICE when hurt.

Many views on here stating that the referee should carry spare gumshields. The rules state that the chief second of each boxer has 2 x gumshields just in case one gets knocked out of the ring and can't be found.

Great fight Heaney won the fight should not have been a draw.

Heaney got away with resting, blatantly obvious holding glove under the armpit loads when he was hurt. The ref should have been strict but wasnt. I feel like Pauls deserved better. His efforts were being halted and stolen from him. Spitting the gumshield out is bullshit. Should have warned his corner to hurry up. That 10 sec window is a long time go recover

Why are ppl forgetting pauls ears were boxed off for the first 6 rounds? Firsts half 5-1 being generous to pauls. Second half of the fight very close, but all in all heaney got a couple of rounds. The rounds pauls won he did so impressively. 8-4 to heaney 👊 great fight all the same.

Heaney lost that fight. Fair play to him for standing up, but he's inevitably going to get knocked out though.

Brad pauls won this fight the other fighter taking 20 seconds every time he spit the mouthpiece. Should be at least a point deducted plus brad in those 20 seconds could do more damage.

low-level boxing, like white-collar or unlicensed boxing level. no footwork, no defence at all, no ability to grab properly, zero ability in general, not good enough at pick-a-boo, and not good at Philly shell.

Nathan was beaten unfair decision constantly spiting out his gum shield when things got tough and he was all over the place at times even turning his back he looked like he was close to being knocked out and would spit out gum shield to gain extra time to recover and stop from getting battered he also didn't throw hooks as well as his opponent and he looked like he was being dominated at times I think his home support swayed the decision but for me he lost
