Word. Throughout the year, when you watched their press conferences, you saw and heard Wilson being a true leader, lifting everyone up including the coach who was treating him terribly. Even after the sideline yelling incident, Wilson went to bat for his coach, but his coach, the "leader", refused to say anything about that event, even days later. The point when I knew the coach was toxic to the player was when he made a public point of telling Wilson to "stop kissing babies" seemingly oblivious (or worse, not oblivious) to the fact that Wilson's #1 cause for OVER A DECADE has been volunteering at children's hospitable wards, one of the reasons he won Man of The Year. To tell such a man to "stop kissing babies" speaks volumes.

SP was hired to WIN games with the present personnel, not use his astute knowledge of football to coach just bad enough to justify benching RW, a top 10 QB who helped beat KC after years of losing to KC. It wouldn’t even be so bad if SP did everything to win, but then had to bench him due to money issues, but leave that as the reason he was benched. Don’t pretend as if RW did not or could not make the plays because that is a lie that we all witnessed in the fourth quarter of the NE game. RW ran that offense to near perfection when given the opportunity!

Quarterbacks are a product of Pete Carroll. Sean Payton is a product of Quarterbacks. There is no comparison between the two coaches. Not only on the field, but in how their players regard them. The LAST thing that Pete Carroll would ever do is humiliate his quarterback on the sideline. Pete will ask his players to adjust their contracts with the best of them, but he is self-secure and doesn't feel compelled to justify contractual disputes by winning favor in the court of public opinion.

And NEVER would Coach Carroll berate any player, let alone the starting, future HOFer QB and by default leader of the locker room, in the manner Payton did on the sideline that night in Detroit. Payton made me sick with act of outright disrespect. Wilson should have pointed at the Walter Payton Man of the Year emblem on his jersey, gave Sean the middle finger, and said “F you!” Brady would have done that. ‘Cept Brady was never awarded the MOY award.

@dinuratnayake4259 Belichick was already a 2 time Superbowl champion as defensive coordinator of the Giants. He had some sucess as the head coach of the Browns. He also had sucess as the defensive coordinator of the Jets. He was winning as the head coach of the Patriots with Drew Bledsoe as his quarterback. He went 11-5 in 2008 without Brady. And was winning with Jimmy Garoppolo during Brady's 4 game suspension in 2015. Brady as great as he turned out to be may have been a journeyman quarterback had Belichick not drafted him. For all we know Brady would have possibly been out of the league in 2-3 years had Belichick not drafted him. Belichick is a very good coach. Mac Jones just sucks. I think both Brady and Belichick deserve credit for the Patriots dynasty. I think they were both great in their respective roles. I don't agree with the belief that the Patriots sucess was "all Brady".

@@davidsavage2158no actually both teams would have to agree on how much each team would eat of whats already owed to him. Lets say he go to the jets and they sign russ for 40 mill a year for 5 yrs with 160 at signing and the rest is obviously broken down in weekly checks. Well that 40 a yr that he is getting from the jets has nothing to do with what the broncos owe him. Now what the broncos are going to do is ask how much of what the broncos owe him are the jets willing to eat since they want him? And what the jets are going to say is well if u want him gone how much are u willing to eat if u want him gone that bad? And basically what will happen is the jets may say im willing to eat 15milland the broncos eat the rest. Now where it gets sticky is what russ want to do bcus of how the broncos are doing him. So the jets will go to russ and say since we eating the 15 we are going to just count that as already paid since we signed u to xy and z. And russ can say ok cool and get his extra 17Ms from broncos and call it a day. Or he can say no i want everything they owe me and then russ take it out of the jets hands and put it back in the broncos hands and now they have to still pay him the full amount that they owe. Bcus whatever team may want him will sign him anyway.

Wilsons stats are eerily similar, but Payton and Brees worked together for over a decade after the 06 season. It's not about football, Payton never liked Russ, it was obvious since the off-season. But don't tarnish the man and make it difficult for him to get another contract with another team. I'm not even a Russ fan but every human being deserves dignity no matter what the circumstance.
