I used luocha Ruan mei and himeko for this fight. It was really fun with himeko’s break passive but the last phase took kinda long -_-

Everyone was amazing, but Acheron and Tiernan's reveal was the biggest thing for me in Penacony, I thought it was some wise old guy guiding Acheron but it turns out Acheron was the gentle Grim reaper that was guiding his soul :(( Allegra and Tiernan VA really made me cry ALSO RAIDEN B. Man Penacony has been a real wild roller coaster! I've been so emotional in so many parts, like Aventurine saying farewell to his younger self, Misha's conversation with Clockie and finally going to rest the final time, and of course, the fucking final boss fight with the cutscene building it up! All characters introduced were all amazing and interesting, none of them were boring. Acheron, Aventurine, and Firefly were the mvp of the story for me! I'm also really impressed with how Boothill was integrated into the story despite his short appearance time. Witness..... the will of the weak! - Hardest line so far in the game. In the real world, politics consists of people allying with strong factions and conceding them power and benefits to defeat other strong factions who may or may not be worse. There are plenty of dictators out there. There are few who stand for a more equal system for all, because anyone who wants a more equal system is trampled by those who want a system benefitting them. Those who seek equality do not seek power as efficiently or cruelly as those who do seek power, and thus those who seek power for themselves will almost always be in the majority in rule. And despite all this, stories like what Hoyoverse tell are important. Even if it is fiction, it's important to instil a sense of justice and equality in young people's hearts. If we can all just try to work towards getting a good future for all of us-!

If some big crisis happened, the Roman system of voting on everything would take too long, so instead they just voted someone to take charge for the period of the crisis and fix the problem swiftly, and after the crisis was over, the dictator was supposed to step down. Of course, this was a dangerous practice, as all it takes is one bad dictator to seize power. But the original idea of a dictator was for someone who acted for the people to take charge. Having said that, I'm pretty sure no-one voted for Sunday other than the Dreammaster!

Two main weaknesses is the lack of checks and balances on the ruler and who succeeds the dictator. As benevolent as they can be, without checks and balances, whats to stop the heir being a shitty dictator? Raiden shogun is somewhat of a theocratic dictator/monarch and as for benevolent... leave that up to discussion

Headcannon: the reason "no one survived" when Sunday won the first battle wasn't because he managed to trick us: it's because Sparkle's buttons were all pressed at the end of the fight and blew up Penacony.

@@kamenriderevol2225 Welt would have identified Honkai energy if that was all there was to Stellarons. He's no slouch when it comes to Honkai science. Honkai as an aeon overlaps with a number of different aeon paths, and it's goal to force civilisations to evolve into gestalt entities via applying catastrophes and disaster is not really analogous to Destruction in the long term, despite having similar methodology in the short term. Regarding Himeko, we've seen Raiden Acheron B Mei having knowledge of Welt and Kevin (since the same things happened with her and keep happening on many similar realms). Himeko having flashes from other worlds doesn't necessarily mean it's from Honkai 3rds Himeko. But it's a nice nod for Impact players.

The thought of similar characters but from different universe, having some sort of lucid dream but from the other perspective, is mind blowing to me and this is my head canon but I'd actually be really happy if march is actually somewhat related to Elysia and she awaken pieces of memories of the Flame Chasers. Maybe in the future even thought it wouldn't make any sense in the story

Having to deduced the plot hole in the story in penacony in order to realize that we were still in the dream world was the most hype part of the story for me 😎

Interesting how this was a clash between two paths of fallen aeons, Alivili the Trailblazer and Ena the Order. With Xipe the Harmony watching over who will emerge victorious. I like it was mentioned that Ena faced her end with dignity.

Penacony arc was definitely the best story in HSR, and one of the best that hoyoverse has made in general

@@FrozenFacade Funny enough, I feel like we spent so much time on Aventurine that it seriously detracted from our time to understand other characters. He got what felt like 6 hours of exclusive screentime in 2.1, much of which had him only talking with other versions of himself without advancing the main story at all (how much actually HAPPENED in 2.1?), and it felt like a lot of that was spent repeating information that had already been stated to the point that it felt like they thought we were stupid. That amusement park could have really been cut and given to someone else who had been neglected, and I don't think I would have understood Aventurine any less. 2.1 is for me the reason why I think Fontaine was overall just a bit better, even if Penacony's peaks are higher and it ended on a much grander note.

I'm kinda understanding and I get Sunday's mindset in a way, like I guess he's willing to sacrifice himself for others happiness. And that part I get it because I'm also ready to sacrifice or adjust myself just for others happiness and peace only if they're deserving of it.

Lmao at Allegra coming in and flaming Mina. Also I am amazed at how Mina can finish some of these clock puzzles so fast and understand story so well, yet fail Black Swan's question 3 times in a row before realizing.

2:58:02 I just realized the gravity of what he said. I was confused with the connection back then, but then I realize these were the dials that you could choose from Clockwork...then it made sense. To me, at least. Truly peak fiction.

Okay, I finished watching Part 1 and 2 to completion. I cried like a dozen times or more even though it was my third time experiencing it now. This truly was an emotional roller-coaster I'll never forget. Even though sometimes Mina makes me want to pull my hair out, I loved being able to experience her reactions as I got to enjoy the story yet again. I can't wait for even more. @@ashmash8362 There was so much going on, that it's difficult to abridge it all, but to name some highlights: The Watchmaker's backstory, Firefly's determination in spite of her illness, the conflict between Robin and Sunday, Acheron's desire to comfort those washed upon the Acheron river and wanting to resolve Tiernan's lament, us all coming together to awaken people from their dreams. I'm able to immerse myself into the world and deeply empathize with the characters, and in doing so, I resonate with their expressed experiences, which causes an emotional reflection within me that mirrors what I perceive through them. Being able to experience such things is often why story and narrative are so important to me in games. I read essentially all the dialogue, even the optional stuff, as it helps me be further immersed in the world around me. It's a lot like reading a book, you know? You sort of just transport into the world the dialogue paints for you in your mind. It's the same thing with the game's narrative.

Sunday boss doesn't take any damage during the charge up phase if you paid attention. Could've spent the ult to shred more of his toughness. You get an achievement for it too.

I just love how Black Swans moment in the spotlight was a call back to the first Myriad Celestial: Fable about the Stars. Her fixation on Stelle/Caelus memories ended up being the clutch factor that saved herself and them from Enas dream. Honestly makes you wonder just how long they planned that moment for Black Swan in advance it was so good

Love Firefly's interactions with the weird stuff Trailblazer does. She doesn't react in a "whiney" way like March does (that's still a good thing), but comes off more "angy" as though she's more used to solving her problems head-on, quickly and is getting impatient.

Even though I have seen the story myself, there's something magical about experiencing the story again with Mina. Thanks for getting through this part of the story to the end!

The nameless girl Acheron mentions is the owner of the set she uses, the one with her flowers. Apparently she went in too deep into the Nihility or something

I was confused at first as I couldn't link this to anyone besides Firefly from the word 'Nevermore', but there was no connection to her at all in story. But I did notice it was based on Edgar Allen Poe's poem called 'The Raven' I looked into this poem when 2.0 released when I noticed SAM's theme is called "Nevermore" so seeing the poem actually appear freaked me out, and after completing the 2.2 story it is very much related to Sunday. The Raven is a poem where a person longs for their Lenore who they lost, and a raven perches in front of them, this person indulges to question the raven but the raven only answers with "nevermore", which gives the speaker grief as they believe this Raven speaks the truth, and as the speaker keeps indulging in the questions the answer only fills him with grief as he will nevermore forget his Lenore and in trying to forget he pushes himself into the shadows... (it is something along those lines based on my memory) This readable very clearly states Sunday's thinking, his path, his wants, his dreams, his past, and his actions. But this could just be someone close to Sunday that wasn't mentioned after the events of the story you might see a flaw in my theory... but an important detail is that this can be found BEFORE COMPLETING THE QUEST which is a very important detail as they do lock collectibles behind certain triggers but didn't for this and that is very important to note since it mentions what happens in the story before it actually happened which implies they knew the outcome of the story before it happened, no one is able to know this, not even Sunday himself, there is only one character we know that can, Elio, and this Cecil Simmes could be another Alias (I don't know if this name has any significance or if it is inspired by something) The poem is very clearly related to Sunday... his past with the dove crashing in front of Robin's window and watching it die, etc... but there a 2 points that relates to Elio, the description of the readable and the last paragraph of the poem: "A bizarre and incomprehensible poem. Or perhaps, some kind of mysterious invitation." "Your old dreams are as dead soil, barren of hope and bereft, Yet how can a noble soul wither and fade, left adrift? I shall await your arrival, with open arms and boundless hope, Here lie the truest dreams, where infinite possibilities lope. Here, all your ambitions shall be fulfilled and set aflame, The past forever transformed, and nevermore" This is an invitation sent to Sunday to join the Steallaron Hunters and whether or not Sunday join is up to him. But in turn of the Stellaron Hunters joining Elio to stop the universe from destruction, Elio helps them fulfil their wishes in their times of desperation, giving them a new hope and a new beginning and he is willing to do the same for Sunday to move on from the past. And Sunday is currently imprisoned by the Family as said by an NPC found in the grand theatre but he is alive and Elio may have seen potential after all he wrote "Yet how can a noble soul wither and fade, left adrift?". Sunday isn't a murderer, he wants the best for everyone, he could have just killed us if he wanted everyone else to live in his ideal but he didn't, he saw himself as a necessary sacrifice to become the star that would overseer everyone was safe in the dream to maintain it, he is selfless to the extremes and joining Elio to stop the universe from destruction and help other people that are desperate (the other steallaron hunters), the "weak" he was talking about fit his philosophy as well as Elio wanting to kill Nanook as Sunday wants a universe without Aeons, so Sunday has a reason to Join. But there is also another reason Elio may want Sunday, there were 3 deaths that Firefly is meant to suffer and Acheron said "Firefly is a stowaway who entered the Dreamscape in a different way from ours. Without the dreampool in the hotel or assistance from The Family, she can only awaken from this dream in one way... a real "death"." The rest of The Family won't help a stellaron hunter, she already died 2 times but the third was said by her "Only by achieving victory in this battle can we secure a future for Penacony. And only then, my third and final death... won't come true in the most terrible form" which implies she still dies but by waking from the dream and not a real death. The only person that could do this and be willing to is Sunday. He won't let someone die if he can control it, he has an extreme sense of justice. Also in a HoyoLab post called "character introduction Sparkle" under the "share something that has amused you" section it says: "How about making a little chicken as my partner? I'll give it a white suit and black cat glasses" Elio is the character presumed to use black cats as a sort of way to overseer the stellaron hunters, as a way to watch them without using his real body, just as Sunday uses his servants this was shown in the Kafka splash art and myriad celestia trailer, Edgar Allen Poe also wrote a book called "The Black Cat" so they might have used his works for a reason to link the stellaron hunters together. Another fun little connection is the song Robin sings in the battle appears to be based on the name of a Poem also called “Hope is the thing with wings” and looking at the lyrics it obviously is about Robin and Sunday…but there is another book who draws reference from “Hope is the thing with wings” called “Grief is the things with wings” and the bird on the cover is a crow, this likely represents Sunday. It is obvious they draw a lot of inspiration from literature but the stellaron hunters seem to have a lot of symbolism involving corvids, Kafka sounds like Kavka which translates to Jackdaw in Czech which are corvids, there is a book called "Kafka on the shore" which involves Kafka, a character named "Crow", and cats... Blade's splash art also has a crow in the background... and SAM's theme "nevermore" is related to Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven"... The crow typically represents a bad omen, but a dead crow could represents a positive changes, if Elio seeks the fulfil their wishes it would be the death of their crows... Blade wants death and be rid of immortality, Firefly wants to find meaning in her own life as Firefly not SAM or Glammoth's iron cavalry which the theme Nevermore is linked to, kafka we still know little about, and SW doesn't seem to follow anything in particular as she sees the universe as a game the only one who doesn't have a crow motif It should also be noted that Gopher Wood can be seen in the dreamscape pass, he is a Halovian with completely black wings and has a crow on his shoulder unlike Sunday's wing which is purple with white (Sunday also only has one wing, if you look closely underneath his suit one is a wing but the other is just part of his clothes, his wing has been clipped and can't fly, he sees himself as one of the weak while Robin is the strong). Looking that the Harmony/Order obviously draw inspiration from Christianity and to quote Leviticus 11:13 "Of birds these are they which you must not eat, and which are to be avoided by you: The eagle, and the griffon, and the osprey," Leviticus 11:14 "And the kite, and the vulture, according to their kind" Leviticus 11:15 "And all that is of the raven kind, according to their likeness" crows and such should be avoided and not eaten under any circumstance as it is a false and sinful teaching I also believe that the person speaking for the credit section at the end of the story is Elio, also in the dreampass 17 are both Elio. The 3 dialogue options from the dreamscape pass: "We've known each other for a long time... Interestingly, I feel the same way. But is this truly the correct answer? Don't be in a hurry. When we have witnessed the end of this business together, I will certainly reveal to you my true identity." "We are but people passing by each other's trailblazing journeys... Interestingly, I feel the same way. But is this truly the correct answer? Don't be in a hurry. This is based on feeling and is just speculation but out of all the characters that would speak the end of the script, it would be Elio

Crows do have a distinct connection with the stellaron hunters; Kafka means jackdaw in Czech, Blade's splash art portrays a couple of em, and of course we have Sam's battle theme Nevermore So yeah, that theory might happen to be

That's very interesting. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I don't have time to play this game myself and most streamers don't have time to read all books or items's descriptions in the game so lore vids and comment section really help me. I love how Genshin and HSR put so much interesting stuff to read in the games. 👍👍👍

​@@thederp9309 To add on Sunday and Firefly's three deaths, he may also be linked to her "cure", or even cure her himself. As her illness progresses, her movements start to get slower and slower until it reaches a terminal stage, where her body seemingly disappears. This is what happens when entropy of a closed system reaches equilibrium, it becomes indistinguishable from the environment. The state of equilibrium can be described as perfect (or harmonious) disorder, as entropy is a measure of disorder. Naturally, the antithesis to Entropy is Order. And we all know what Firefly suffers from.

Took me a full 10 hours to finish this ground zero day 1 myself, and I think you are one of the first I've seen complete this. Good job! I love seeing how everyone reacts to things, I didn't pick up on how sus the fake ending was until Black Swan started the bedtime story (probably because i was maybe 8 or 9hrs in by that point). The Honkai Impact 3rd insights are also quite good as I haven't played that game myself.

I always enjoy watching your reactions to the story. Also I Absolutely loved Penacony’s story so much. It’s by far my favorite. And the boss fight and music was amazing. I’m excited to see what’s next.

No peak at all... the intentions of 2.2 were good but the execution of the storytelling and the gigant amount of exposition dumps(especially regarding Robin, sadly) puts it reaaaaaaaally far. Belobog is still better. 2.0/2.1 was the highest point of HSR.

​@@Nico-nc5qbI do agree that Penacony's problem is it's pacing being all over the place and there being a lot of cryptic talk and exposition. However, I think it's cause the story has way more meat than Belebog. Belebog story was pretty straightforward and meanwhile it's more consistent in the storytelling. There were a few problems too like Cocolia not being as well developed and not every casts plays a role as well as penacony did. Every character matter inc the 4* like Misha and Gallagher. I overall still prefer Penacony even tho it's bloated compared to Belobog

@@tyrell9232 oh, agree. I am of the mind that they should have ended 2.2 with the "fake ending" while getting actual Robin gameplay and then 2.3 being the ending. Belobog obiously was more straightforward, but being "simple" doesn't mean being worse. Penacony's story was waaaay bigger, so it deserved the time to do it. They were fine until 2.2; i mean, Aventurine had a magnificent story, alongside Acheron, Firefly and Black Swan. I kinda figured they cut out all Robin related things because they don't need to sell her, even if you know nothing about her, you saw her do nothing aside for being a plot device for Sunday. I tried checking the structure of the story and realize Robin is pointless aside for Sunday's arc. She's easily replaceable in the MC's story because Firefly fulfills the role(the MC doesn't care about Robin until he/she is told by exposition he needs to care). Well, it is what it is. It's fun and that's the important thing. It's kinda weird that they don't give you Robin gameplay but they give you character development for the 5 colored paper birds. With 2.2 Part 2 being about Boothill and Aventurine and 2.3 being about Firefly, Jade and Topaz... i don't see Robin getting some justice anytime soon.
