You can have more braking control without abs, but that is a pretty advanced driving technique. Most people in an emergency will brake hard as they can and steer to avoid collision, which means they need abs. Skilled drivers instinctually manage braking force and lockup in non abs cars much better than abs because they can see and feel more than an abs module. That being said, more advanced stability and braking systems on higher end cars, at high speeds and hard braking would likely outperform most drivers below pro race driver skill levels.

Yup. ABS may lengthen your braking distance but you stay in control

@@mintgoldheart6126 you may not be in full control of the brakes anymore, but it keeps the wheels from locking up which means you can still steer which is also really important

ABS will not lenghten the braking distance, friend. Indeed, it will shorten it, and that's because the anti-lock braking system will prevent the tire from sliding on the ground, and since the friction's coefficient is higher when there is no movement (that is, the part of the weel which is thouching the ground will not move relatively to the ground), it brakes the car more strongly.
