@@allen0088 well Paul van dyk for me is the best ever.. he's the origin 😁, but at the moment Giuseppe is really killing it with he's Las albums "Evolver"..and don't forget that Giuseppe with Andrea as NuNrg and even as solo was mentored by pvd..so there are a lot of similarities between them..

i'm writing this comment for a reply and for you to see it and re listen to this beauty; it is his vocals, defo, but I think the lyrics are major.. at least for me.. they just hit that spot that it's dark and lonely at the bottom

This is the "stairway to heaven" of trance. Pure magic

What a classic. Good memories when trance sounded like this.

It’s so disappointing that trance music as a whole did not made a top 10 impact on the US billboard hot 100 chart. Only one or two songs with trance music has hit the top ten and never again since. This song deserves to get the attention it really needs in America. It is magical, uplifting and soulful that it makes you dance crazy.

I actually went through a few awful nights recently with insomnia, stress and near despair and for the first time ever I understood the line about 'the angels curse me blind with straight and crooked thinking' Powerful song, no wonder I loved playing it in my dj sets over the years

When an eight minute track was not simply tolerated but SAVORED!

The sound that got me into trance, the sound that I still love and will keep playing with Richard Bedford pouring his heart out on vocals. Tri-State era sounds are timeless, how I wish this classic sound wasn't so neglected and discarded in present day A&B sets...

I remember hearing this when A&B first played it on Radio One here in the UK at their Ibiza weekend special. I was awake late, a kid (around 15 or so) and it just hit me... It was an instant feeling, an instant classic, an instant hook for me.

I heard it online probably at around 12 years of age. I found it randomly and fell in love with the song immediately. This was like 2014 or something.

Agreed, the Tri-State and early Oceanlab songs are timeless and will always be played by other DJ's in their sets (Neptune Project, JOC, James Dymond, Robert Nickson in my personal recent experience!). Can't Sleep and Home are equally great for me, Ashley Tomberlin and Hannah Thomas are wonderful vocalists.

God this version is so much better than the big room trash I just heard "Above and Beyond Gorge Remake". This version, the original, is just beautiful and atmospheric and the vocals work perfectly with the synths!!! Above & Beyond was one of my favorite trance artists for years, especially their early remixes for artists like Ayumi Hamasaki, but now they have essentially abandoned the core of what trance is, and it's a shame because so many of the other really important trance artists have largely done the same and they have a large enough fanbase of real trance fans that would happily listen to and pay for Golden Age-style trance (with perhaps modern updates, IMO even this track is essentially modern trance because it has an unmistakably different sound via the sort of synths used, and even the song structure is clearly different than the sort of trance made from the Golden Age of roughly 1993 to 2003). I listen to some new trance releases, but to me they always just feel like they are missing something. Perhaps the technical limitations imposed on early trance producers via hardware production techniques made the music seem more human in some way (but that is just my opinion). Just to make this clear, I don't mean to denigrate anyone's musical tastes AT ALL. If you like what Above & Beyond and Anjunabeats is currently producing, keep listening to it! I still love what Anjunadeep is doing right now! Andrew Bayer and Jody Wisternoff are musical geniuses! And Arty (especially his ALPHA 9 releases) is equally brilliant!

This song feels like the Silver Surfer weaving his way through the cosmos contemplating his existence, struggle, the face of his wife and the sheer inferiority of his mortal problems as they slowly melt away as he is awash in the sheer scale and luminosity of the galaxy, slowly forgetting his mortality, and embracing his newly celestial nature.

I can't describe the mood this song puts me in.

The album Tri State is so insanely good as a whole, it's unbelievable. There is practically not a bad song there, how is that even possible? I can listen to that over and over again, and still get some emotion. Sadly, that is the main difference between this and the stuff A&B produces these days... I wish they return to former style, but I guess they're too "club oriented" now.
