    I appreciate you showing people what things actually sound like instead of talking about what things might sound like. After all this is music/sound that we're talking about. You have to hear examples to learn here. Explaining these subjects will only get you so far and you have come up with a way to do both at the same time. So for that I salute you. Keep the videos coming and I will keep watching them

    I have a question: can I use the umbilical cable to power my pc when Ableton is open?

  • @thingsilike1109
    @thingsilike1109 Жыл бұрын

    As always, these videos are absolutely fantastic and there are a number of elements I am going to add from this into my own workflow! next level stuff. I just have one question; sometimes when applying effects like grain delay to certain things with lots of low-end frequency material like bass or kicks, there is a risk of destroying the desired characteristics of the original sound, as you noted by keeping the dry/wet low on the kick to preserve the transient. If I use grain delay to add resonant harmonics to my bass, is there any risk of this weakening the low-end impact of my bass and, if so, are there any measures I should take to preserve the impact of the low end of my bass? e.g. filter envelopes, parallel processing and so on

  • @asd_asd_asd_asd

    @asd_asd_asd_asd

    Жыл бұрын

    great question ! i would separate my bass into 2 parts-a basic sine sub, and then the harmonic/tonal/sound-designed bass. i'd hi pass the tonal bass ~100ish Hz, or anywhere just above where the fundamental frequencies in ur bassline sit. optionally u can group the basses and process the group w a compressor and/or gentle saturator.

    hey im absolutely in love with this video and all the possibilities that grain delay offers, unfortunately i use fl studio (boooooh), and i would like to know if there are any plugins that i can use as resonators and / or stereo widener, in the same vein? cannot find any granular pluggin with spray + frequency knobs at the moment if anyone has any idea where i could find this i would be so grateful

  • @asd_asd_asd_asd

    @asd_asd_asd_asd

    Жыл бұрын

    i've never used FL 😢 most granular plugins should have a spray/grain position randomization parameter, and they should also have a grain size parameter (grain delay misleadingly calls it frequency instead)
