In my space opera campaign, my players encountered many aberrations and elder gods (in one instance, one of the players looked directally to the Eye of Dagon and gained a permanent penalty to wisdom and a dm's creation "feat" called "touched by the eldritch", where he would be forever haunted by lovecraftian horror's nightmares and would be more easelly noticed by aberrations) because the setting is one of deep space fantasy, adventure and horror

Aberrations...otherwise known as aliens. Not only great in stand-alone fantasy but also the perfect excuse to introduce sci-fi into your high fantasy. It's always cool pitting a fireball against a plasma grenade...sci-fi wins though.

Need help: Trying to build a Plague doctor, but I can't quite get it. Ideally they'd be proficient in poisons, diseases and curses. I was building Bard/Druid (College of Lore, Circle of spore) for the skills and magic. Go Hermit so you can select Poison kit if you go Druid 1. IDK what do you think? Any suggestions?

*mentions how almost all but one Aberration is evil* “Bold of you to assume.” that’s only if the DM follows the guide to the letter. To me there could be good Mind Flayers or Beholders. They could be outliers but still I think of the books as guidelines than strict rules to follow. Just more possibilities and fun to subvert more well versed players expectations

I forget, is there an aberration language?
