Both of my kids were born in military hospitals. I never surprised them when returning from deployments, but it is always very genuine tears, and seeing other soldiers going through the same things always brings it back. I know how it feels.

Me too...right here. My story is a bit different..l had one child out of a force... you know what!.. But l didn't have the heart to do a termination! So, l decided to keep it. Moving.. forward, l became a single mother & it was really..really hard. My boy started seeing at an early age all my struggles!!!..@ age 15 and up he starting saying, Mom, l wish l could do something to help you out financially!? I replied, "No, l don't wish to do anything bad but stay in school and get a high school diploma?" He got a part-time job after school. When he graduated high school, my son asked me to drive him to a Military Office Recruiter in NYC! My son grew up to be 6'5" and was 325 lbs.. When he entered the recruiter office...an officer of the Army, Navy and Marines saw him...coming in the hallway. All three service men..at a distance of 20ft.. said to my son: You want to enlist? You gotta drop a lot of weight, man!..then all three laugh in my son's face!..l was in shock! My son was so.. so... embarrassed? He made a U turn and left by telling me, Let's get out of here." Then he said: This is the USA Military Service!? He felt bullied and so discriminated. He never went back. My son is 38yrs old now. He works at a construction company in Virginia., lm just struggling so hard. Sometimes, l feel like throwing the white towel and giving up? And l feel so overwhelmed with financial problems all on my own. It's just really hard. So sorry for my venting sincerity. I just don't talk to no one in this state. BUT, l think, lm silently dying inside?.. I feel that all my years of working and working..as a single parent, time or seen my youth fly by me..then l ask myself, now what's left!? I'm so sorry. Thank you for your service, Sir/Ma'dam..if in family? Thank you...bye...
