Met her at a conference when I was in college and YES!!! She’s exactly that! Literally. Her energy in person convinced me I was worth more than everyone & I needed to go save the world. Lol. Obviously exaggerating, but seriously an amazing presence ❤

YESSSS absolutely!!! I love Lisa so much! Someone commented that Sheryl is the embodiment of a fairy godmother (which I very much see) but in my actual life I have a non-biological aunt who has been my savior, aka fairy godmother, who Lisa reminds me SO much of (if you replace Philly with Chicago, and Italian with Jewish, and red hair with black...ha! ...but the rest is spot on!). It's amazing to see someone play such an amazingly familiar real-life person! I just have to get my aunt to watch this show (she's too busy caring for everyone else but I'll try)!

Sheryl seems like that teacher that you're afraid of in the beginning of the school year but ends up being your favorite teacher that cares about you the most.

I just adore how parallel this cast is two their characters… the mutual respect between Quinta and Sheryl, the admiration that Quinta has for Sheryl being the icon that she is but also Sheryl’s love for Quinta as her millennial boss is reflected in their characters. But every character has something tied into the actor that plays them and it just tickles me.

Sheryl has the most graceful and elegant presence. The way she carries herself, the way she speaks. Reminds me of Phylicia Rashad. I remember watching her on "Moesha" and thinking the same thing.
