I was 17 when "The Winner Takes It All" was released, at the same time that I got my teenage heart broken. I think I wore out my cassette tape drowning in my melancholy. Years later my girlfriend and I reunited and we're happily married. I still love the song and appreciate the brilliance of ABBA now more than ever.

This is Agnetha's song, and no one else's! Such emotion and heartbreak in her voice. I don't know why I'm listening to this in 2019, but I guess that's why it's a classic. @@jennyprorockshe sings. Of course she is seen more than the others. She has a far easier job to do than to write the song though. Björn by far (with Benny) are the most important people in the group, not even up for debate.

I was 12 when this song came out, and didn't really like it, that was the era of Duran Duran and Gary Numan for me. Then when I was 40 I heard it on the radio, and was absolutely blown away by what a total masterpiece it is - the lyrics, the songwriting, the overall production, and of course, Agnetha's singing. Sometimes you have to grow up in order to really understand something.

i was 13 and remember hearing this song on the radio many times that year while doing homework. like you i was was more into the new groups like Duran Duran, Culture Club, Billy Idol, Depeche Mode, and the other New Wave music. But when I became an adult I developed a deeper appreciation for Abba, and the talent and craftsmanship that went into their songs, this song in particular.

I moved to Sweden during Covid. I knew nobody those first few months, and on my days off drove all over the country. Passing the beautiful trees and lakes, I remember listening to this song and thinking how pure and beautiful this song and the Swedish countryside was. I felt like life became more simple somehow with nature and ABBA to keep me company.

After 11 years of being with the father of my kids this songs hits me with such pain . We have played all are cards and at this point their is no more cards to play. I wish him nothing but the best

Even at our age of eldery, this song still touch our hearts at all.

The most heart warming thing about ABBA is the courage to sing about a real life experience. I don't know how Agnetha could do it when her dream love life was falling apart, she could not know how that vulnerability was to impact so many and show them how to move on graciously after heart break. Abba the group just blessed us with their clear, clean version of ballads that any age group and any nationality could enjoy. They hit East Africa like a bombshell when we were in High School and at sixty we still rock to their golden oldies! May Yahweh bless them with His Light..,🙏🏾💕

Here I am in 2023 and I'm still wishing they would get back together cause in life you only have something priceless for a time and that is what they have. They are the greatest band of all time.

An amazing song. When I listen to her, it takes my breath away and emotions overwhelm me. I am grateful to God for giving humanity this wonderful group and the beautiful Agnetha with her divine voice. There are not enough words to describe all the admiration for this team. Easily my favorite cut from ABBA. This group has been my perennial favorite for decades. WHAT A VOICE!! You can see the pain in her face as she sings about the breakup of her marriage.

Esse grupo era/ é genial, talvez a sincronia e o sentimento de amor e muito dedicação no que faziam. O Bjorn e o Benny são gênios em matéria de melodia e harmonia dos instrumentos, o brilho e a harmonia das vozes das mulheres são impecáveis. Parece um vocal de anjos.

Я до сих пор помню огромную радость , когда, не веря газетным строкам, я читала интервью с нею, когда она нашла в себе силы вернуться. Искренне желаю Агнет долгих лет жизни! только по времени наоборот... они сначала развелись, два года жили порознь, но вместе выступали и мучались, а потом Бьорн и Бенни написали эту песню. сначала она называлась - «История моей жизни»
