Their "problem" was they had too many hits. On the same album was Dancing queen, Knowing me knowing you. Two of their biggest hits, and also for instance Money money money, When I kissed the teacher, My love my life and Why did it have to be me. And their best selling single, Fernando, though it was added as a bonus later. It was the same thing with their previous album. They realeased So long and I do I do I do I do I do before they released SOS and then Mamma mia.

@@standersson6420 "Bang-A Boomerang" and "I"ve Been Waiting For You" on that album too. They basically had 6-7 hit-worthy songs on each album. It's incredible that these songs sound so good and fresh, even 45 years later. "That's Me" is also lifted by the great instrumentation - the keyboards, banjo(?!), drums and bass line are top notch.

I played this B side more than the A side "dancing Queen" back then, and still prefer it over to Dancing queen to this day. Agnetha and Frida's harmonies are out of this world. Pure class

I agree! When I was a kid, I bought the 45 of 'Dancing Queen' with my allowance and 'That's Me' was the B-side. I wore both sides of that record OUT! lol

Dereck, you found another deep cut. It's always mystified me that this wasn't a single. So beautiful. So effortless - which is how pop songs should sound like. As if they'd just dropped from heaven. (Even though there may have been a lot of hard word to make them sound effortless.)

This, along with Winner..., is Agnetha’s favourite ABBA song - she even named a compilation cd of her career That’s Me

Yes, the song was even included on that CD, although it was meant to be a compilation of her post ABBA career. Two other ABBA songs were included on the compilation as well, "The Winner Takes It All" and "Slipping Through My Fingers" but those were more obvious choices because she sang lead on these two.

Please tell me one group except Abba, that can create songs like this... the voices, the harmonies, the arrangements... I really forgot after all those years how good they were and to be true... still are.... with their new album Voyage.

one of my fav tracks , i listened to this track laying on my bed as a sad youth ,every one told me ABBA were crap . i said they were not and stood my ground. and now 40 years later i can stand proud.

Im praising ABBA all the time here...and its no chance to stop with that,super song after super song comes out of this treasure trove of the best music in the world thats called ABBA..that even now,decades after their ending as a band,still keep us fascinated by their music..which other group can do that..not even Beatles..

I have heard every single song ABBA have ever recorded, and I own every record ever sold. I love all of their music, but This is my favorite song! Also you must hear a very beautiful song featured in the 80s album Super Trouper, "Andante, Andante," What a delight!

Brilliant album Arrival. My very first album I bought. The rest is history. A fun one to listen to from their Greatest hits Vol 1 is Nina pretty ballerina and I do I do I do I do I do.

The classic song of Abbas Thats 'me has me in goosebumps as pure produced studio production as this is Abba on overdrive. Their best album track overall to the golden buzzer needc to vote it out off the park

I'm always surprised how instant and catchy this is despite there being no chorus. Quite extraordinary really. And as you say, the opening 20secs is enough to know its going to be good.

Great tune, another great tune from the 70s, Dance While The Music Still Goes On, is another winner, one of my favourites, check it out, you will definitely go bananas 🍌🍌🍌🍌

Another absolutely great song. It once again shows that every of their album songs could have hit the Charts.

That's Me is probably the most underrated song of ABBA. Just WOW. I am so moved by the story of the song plus the melody that really captures the drama of its story. It's about sentiments of a Bar girl who wishes t be the Cinderella of her client but sadly the reality is "I'm Carrie not the kind of girl that you'd marry, that's me (just a poor bar girl and that's just me)".. Great, great review, Derrick!

I used to play this album back in the 70's in my Panasonic Stereo component in my home town of Vieques (island) in the puerto rican achipelago. What sweet memories of youth it brings. I was always listening to ABBA back then and now in 2021, being a few decades older, I'm still listening to ABBA with the same pleasure as when I was in my late teens. Their music transcends age,time and space. Thank God for ABBA.

The B side to Dancing Queen. It should've been the USA followup! Such an incredible song. Does anyone else see how this could fit into the Sex and the City sequel "And Just Like That?" -"I'm Carrie not the kind of girl you'd marry- that's me!" Ha!

It's on the ABBA Arrival album. That's where I first heard it. I bought the LP back in the 70's.

You've gotta react to "I've Been Waiting For You" { Germania '76} , beautiful video and one of my personal favorites from ABBA, and I think this song fully captures the essence of what makes an ABBA song great.

Dude! Finally!! This song was not snuck in as you said at the end of your reaction. There have been tons of requests from your subscribers myself included and I am so glad to see how you were hooked from the get go. The first time I heard it I had one of those moments when you are totally immersed in the sounds which are bombarding your senses in a good way. And believe me, you will be singing this song by memory in very short order and you’ll be doing it with complete confidence because this song hooks you to the point where you know every single nuance of the transitions, the harmonies, the synths, tie drum pattern and breaks in the flow, etc. To me I think it’s probably their most under appreciated and under recognized songs and that is too bad because it still sounds amazing to this day. And I think that the portion of the video with Agnetha and Frida side by side both facing camera outside in natural lighting, Frida looks the best of any ABBA video I’ve seen her in as well as Knowing Me, Knowing You where she looked flawless also.

This is one of a few ABBA songs guaranteed to make me go, 'all gooey', when listening to it. The whole, 'come on', style, not only of the lyrics, but the song as a whole, regresses me back to the shy, 6 year old who first saw this, 'promotional film', (they weren't videos back then), on TV, all those years ago. Physically impossible not to fall in love with both Anni-Frid and Agnetha in this one. 'I do, I do, I do, I do, I do', would be an interesting follow-up to this one. Also:- 'Rock Me' 'People Need Love' 'Nina, Pretty Ballerina' 'Bang A-Boomerang' 'Tiger'
